I don't think that veteran rewards are the way to go about it either. Some people would end up with 2 and be selling them in PF , we would be back to square one.

I think the golden saucer is a much better idea you get to earn what you want with what ever token they introduce when its released. I also don't think the cash shop items should be tradeable in game if you want to gift someone something it should be handled through the Mog station & the Moogle mail.

As for pro cash shop I'm not pro this one as it sits. I don't like the exclusive items.

Granted there are a few people who want to actually have conversation about it and how to come to an agreement, but that just gets lost in the crud.

Wasn't there a couple "I like cash shop" threads already, I forget. Personally doesn't matter much to me so long as it never goes P2W. I won't spend money in there because I have more important things to spend that money on in my life. I can't honestly get myself to buy minions or mounts. Main reason is because 30 seconds after I get a new minion/mount its old and idc that I have it. So why would I pay for it, smh.

Those two points right there? That is why I'm against the cash shop as it currently stands.

No, they haven't gated such content behind the cash shop. Worse, we've lost potential for such content because they opted to put items exclusively in the cash shop, instead of as rewards in game.

Perhaps they'll use the profits from the cash shop to tailor such quests and let everyone enjoy the content eventually, and that'd be great. Issue then is one of transparency. If 2.5 comes around with an Odin EX Trial, made with funds from the cash shop, with a low chance for Sleipnir to drop, just like the rest of the Primals, we'd go from seeing people complaining about the cash shop, to people who payed $15 for a horse complaining about being mislead.

It isn't even an issue of "Well we wouldn't have the minions at all then". Plenty of minions were in the game at launch (as was Sleipnir) and they slowly got phased in with new content (Blue Bird, Wind-up Goblin, Tender Lamb, to name a few). When they make a minion they don't have to instantly find a way to put it in game, if there is no quest/achievement/whatever they can reward it to instantly, they can just wait until there is. If they want to add something, they should ask themselves "What should this be a reward for?", not "How much can we charge for this on Mog Station?". I'd be perfectly OK however, if they said "This will be a reward as a very rare drop from X, and we'll also let people buy it off Mog Station if they want to skip the grind". Nobody would use the cash shop then? Sure they would. People who are annoyed tend to make poor decisions. People who are farming Odin EX for Sleipnir and see it go to a DRG who ate dirt all fight one too many times get very annoyed.

This pretty much sums up a huge group of people. "I like it, so it's good."

This mentality can be found whenever a group of people need to spend time together be it in your football team or in a game. I don't need to explain why this mindset shows a lack of empathy.

SE needs to understand that there are different approaches to the game. Some like "progression" content, some like minions, some like glamour, some like crafting. Of course these overlap but there is always a favourite one. There will always be a group not happy with X item in the €ash $hop. They'll get over it.

It will be fine as long as SE is clear about their idea of it. Golden Saucer will be the next thing people will flame about should it be connected to said shop. Let people know in advance: transparency.

Yep not everyone plays the game the same and before FFXIV was launched they said there were going to be many ways to play this game other than just combat. (not everyone does end game) Some people collect minions so putting them in the cash shop hurts the way they play the game, Some people collect mounts.. Just because the stuff put in the cash shop doesn't affect the way you get through coil doesn't mean it does not affect the way others play the game? Some people like to craft and do vanity stuff. Putting that stuff in the store with other loot hurts the way they play the game. Why do people do coil? for the loot. Same thing.
All I am saying is people play the game for different reasons not just combat.. Some are just craters and if that stuff ends up in the cash shop it is pay to play or win for them.
Same people who think CS is good would you pay a higher sub fee then? It would help the game out right? It is very short sited to think just because the cash shop does not effect the way you play the game it doesn't effect others

I don't see what the big deal is with the cash shop hate. The way I see it, these cosmetic items has no impact on end-game what-so-ever. If it helps S-E produce more content for FFXIV with expansions or free content (which is not free because we pay for their salaries with our subs and now with cash shop to keep them working and making more content) then I am all for it.

I think what people need is a alternate way to these items from the cash shop and I would like for S-E to consider adding them to the Veterans Reward at some point into the future. That way it is a reward for long time players. That way this will take care of two things, 1) The item will be in-game for veterans after some time. 2) If there are new players and they want these items in advance then they can use the cash shop to purchase them.

I know this isn't the best solution but it is better than complaining without providing a decent solution. If you support the cash shop, show your support in this thread.

Also, SE didn't do themselves any favors with the bracelet thing. They tend to put things out half finished rather than just telling us that they aren't quite ready.

Which is hilarious, considering the legacy this game has. Really sad to see them forget the lessons they learned from 1.0 after just a year...

Part of it is they dont tell people things are going to cost money like the wedding mount.. They parade the wedding mount around without telling people guess what it will cost you. Get peoples hopes up and drop a bomb.. For us it put a damper on the wedding and takes some of the fun out of it..
