Here's mine from today. Working on my atma book and I need to run WP. I think "OK, I've run this plenty of time, I'm sure most people are experienced with this". Get in and see a decked WAR with his helm glamoured as a santa hat. "OK, a good tank but easy going, right?" Look at the DPS, 2 NINs, both with a lot less health than me. The new player message pops up. I think "OK, as long as we don't try to rush this, things will work out".

And then the WAR proceeds to pull from the start to about 2/3s of the way to the 1st boss. "He does realize the 2 NINs aren't overgeared for here and I'm a SCH, I can't Holy spam, right?" We clear the 1st group although a bit slow. "He should see the group is not set up for an SR". He proceeds to pull to the boss door, avoiding the chest and I think "OK, it won't be a smooth run but it will be manageable. Wait, where are the NINs..." and look on the minimap to see they went for the chest. So here we are, me and the WAR at the boss door with a group, and the NINs coming to join us with a bunch of beetles in tow.

We get through that mess and the boss, the WAR must now see we don't have the damage numbers for big pulls, right? He opens the door and proceeds to pull everything to the 2 rusted switches. "OK, he must really want me to work for this". Clear the trash, oil the switches, and we're through the door. We proceed up the stairs, past the switch, to the railing, he tomahawks the enemies at the lower level and even grabs the enemies on the right hallway of the upper section that everyone skips. "Did I insult him in a past life or something?" We're chipping away at the enemies, but not fast enough, and the big tonberry catches up to us. He does try to move the mobs and we wipe. "He must now see we have to take it a bit slower, right?" We regroup and he pulls to the same spot, but this time not grabbing the mobs on the right. "Well I guess that IS slower".

We eventually make it though to the final boss and I think "OK, with how well the WAR and I are geared, we really don't need to worry about the adds." The battle starts, I get my DOTs on the king, the adds start to pop and "Wait, where are the NINs..." Both NINs are split up, taking out the adds. Great, they don't know about Everyone's Grudge. The WAR finally tells them to focus on the boss. At this point, 1 of them had aggroed a slasher. He's dead, the other NIN is down as well, and due to my healing aggro, I get torn up by Scourge of Nym.

I revive and rush back to prep for Round 2, but the WAR is able to survive with a tank LB and finishes off the king. I thankfully get credit even though I'm outside of the boss room. I come in and rez 1 of the NINs (they both stayed on the ground and watched the fight), while the other revived back at the start. The WAR then complains about carrying the group before taking off.

    story from yesterday:

was bored and queued for a few higher leveling instances on my WHM, ending up in cutter's cry. got synched down to 40 as usual and as i was porting in (slow computer -.-) they already start talking in german. well as we all were german it was no big deal but i quickly understood that those 3 are friends which are quite new to the game and the instance with only one knowing the tactics. oh well no problem...

doing the first room i quickly notice the tank took big hits and cant hold aggro when i heal him, so i ended up with quite a bunch of mobs on every pull. good thing im full synched and can sleep some mobs if needed, we make it through the first room. but it bothered me and i took a look at the tank... and saw lvl 20-32 white equip in every slot... great...
but since we take forever for each mob i also look at the gear of both DPS... they also had lvl 20-32 eqip in every slot, though at least some of them were not white
so im in an instance with a paper tank and some feather throwing DPS, great... others may have left at that point but since it was a boredom run anyway i just continued and told them to get some better gear soon

but the biggest problem was that everyone was standing in the sand puddles and did not move out of them. had some death before even reaching the first boss (they even had to pull almost all mobs, even the ones you can skip) but we kind of made it there
first boss was... ok i guess... we cleared him first try but the adds ate me a few seconds before the boss fell since they were so slow killing him (why using LB? -.-)

onwards we went, and from there it got really ugly. after the first boss there are more adds and more sand puddles, on which we wiped quite a few times before eventually reaching the 2nd boss. nobody ever tried to get out of the puddles, and the bombing onehit adds did not do good either to players that did not want to move much.
well, we eventually could also clear the 2nd boss without much problems since i told them where to go, but it took forever again and i was all OOM at the end from all the healing and rezzing (even had to use mp pots)

we were almost out of time so from that point i charged ahead. pulled using sleep on adds to decrease group size to get it down safer and quicker. this worked quite well and we could make our way (ignoring side routes) to the endboss without much problems this time, though it was still very slow

i explained every tactic of the fight in chat and told them when to go close and when to stay away and so on. ok we went in, the boss does the first few aoe skills... and we already had a dead. great. time for rezzing. oh wait why is the tank standing in the... and another dead... a few moments later im alone, kiting the boss while activating quickcast to rezz the tank... which just rezzed himself at the entrance... as well as the DDs... and then they cry that they cant get back in... serious?
the boss at ~60% and solo kiting i try a bit kiting, then let myself get killed since it would have taken too long solo

another try, i explained everything again, pointing out the failures they made. at this point we were down to ~15 min rest time. here we go... and oh well, this time it worked out. they still got hit by quite a bit, i had to tell them when using LB and so on, and i have to do a few rezzes but we eventually cleared it before the time runs out

they thank me and give me all 3 recommendations before leaving, well ok they were all nice and could learn at least.
and the run did what i wanted - it drove the boredome far far away XD

    Fresh from today: Snowcloak.
Party consists of me as a scholar, a warrior, a ninja, and a lancer.
Warrior decides to do the biggest pull I have ever seen for that dungeon: he pulls everything up from the first enemy to the wolves (including at least the first half of the wolves). He has a mob of at least a good dozen or so enemies on him.

By the time I realize he has stopped trying to pull more stuff, his health was already 2/3rds gone and falling fast. I then engage in the most frantic healing struggle of my life, utilizing every cooldown and resource I have. I manage to keep him up for roughly one whole minute. By the end, I had exhausted 6 stacks of lustrate, eye for an eye, fey illumination, rouse, and whispering dawn, while spamming only adlo on him (no physicks). With everything except my mp exhausted, Adlo+embrace spam wasn't enough to keep him up with the amount of enemies still alive (which was most of them—remember, no black mage).

Tank then blames me for the wipe.

To his credit, about 10-20 seconds later, he admitted to forgetting to factor in what kind of DPS we had (without apologizing, though) and the rest of the run went ok.

So now i am starting the various quests for Nirvana, i am running a lot of dungeons, and well, its been "fun". So a common thing seems to be tanks (tanks with nexus weapons), going on what i can only describe as a little sight seeing tour half way through a pull. Hesistating, standing still for a little while, then moving, all the while, they have managed to loose about 80% of their health.......during a pull O.o.

Another common thing is tanks that "loloutgear" content, so believe they dont have to use cooldowns. Strangely enough, these are also tanks who dont manage to hold aggro from anyone. Had a lovely hullbreaker run with a pld, i112 ish (sold+poetic only), decided to try and pull masses of mobs, couldn't get the ranged positioned with the group, wouldnt use cooldowns. I was running with my raids bard, who played foes for me since well, whm+dungeon=holy. Tank actually complained about bard playing songs for people! We asked why a tank who doesnt hold aggro or use cooldowns should be complaining about others, his response "lol, cooldowns, you being serious?"

I play tank as well. I realise that tanks jobs are to pull, hold aggro, position mobs correctly, and mitigate as much damage they receive as possible. Its staggering that many many tanks seem to not understand this.

I have also seen a number of runs where tanks "sightsee" pull while working on Zodiac. Another special thing that I love is when there's one mob left from a huge pull and the tank drags it away with them so I can't use shroud for maximum mana. This is usually followed by another huge pull, where I can't help with aoe as well as the first time and have to focus on healing completely to prevent a wipe.

The good news is that with the removal of ilvl sync, most of these dungeons have become easier for healers to manage. I still haven't had anyone try to blame me on the rare wipe yet, but you can tell that people are annoyed with having to run these dungeons over and over again for their relics. I would be annoyed too if I didn't clear the AV drop in two runs. At least the other dungeons drop tomes and don't slash my power in half.

Started tanking AV, and just left a run after the healer started swearing a little bit at first boss. This was after he managed to pull an absurd amount of unnecessary mobs in the first room, wiped us once already after he decided to run away from me when he pulled mobs. Decided to attack ranged mobs when i was trying to pull them and move them through breaking line-of-sight with them, and generally played whm so badly it made me sad to main whm .

Also, on the tank running away with final mob, thats so annoying. Speedrunning needs really efficient mana management on whm, as well as cooperative use of cooldown from the tank. No decent cooldown used on mass pulls, the whm is not going to be able to assist much in dealing damage and making that run so much faster O.o.

Lately I feel a need to make a macro for my scholar that says "Out of lustrates; please use appropriate cooldowns or do smaller pulls." My scholar is i107 so I'm not over geared, but I'm not that shabby either. But especially in the new dungeons, the mobs hit hard and when tanks do big pulls it's easy to run out of Lustrates and be stuck waiting for Aetherflow to come off cool down.

I wonder if I had the exact same tank, as I had almost the same story. No communication on what he was going to do, and so we are suddenly running, and I'm going "when are you going to actually stop?".

I guess at this point I should be glad he didn't actually stop in the "slipstream" area.

Had a Marauder tank that seemed a bit squishy and generally didn't know what to do in Haukke manor, I checked his gear and he was wearing all caster and dps accessories along with caster pants... It was like healing another blm, in fact, I would have rather had a third DPS -_-

Well I soloed the second boss in Aurum Vale. ._. was fun, but the DPS didnt know how to dodge stuff, and the tank apparently didnt either. So i soloed the boss and just said ef it on ressing them and dealing with their weakness. the boss at the time was around like 75%-ish or so.

    Next would be solo healing Garuda EX. ;__; cause the healer DCed ;-; so it was super stressful as a SCH ;-;
