Actually - Wedding wasn't even going to be introduced initially because of the controversy the "equal rights!" people stirred during beta. If you also want to be further technical, Yoichi Wada stated prior to XIV 1.0's release they were going to incorporate microtransactions into FFXIV. Heck it goes back to even 2001 when they stated they wanted a cash shop in FFXI but the Playoline infrastructure doesn't allow it.

Really? Please point out which content are now starting to get forced to pay for? Unless to you items = content. You equate endgame raid as content, then proceed to say that content are being forced to pay for. I don't see any content being gated by cash shop.

Items aren't content? Mount's aren't content? The simple fact that someone can play the game for anything other than endgame seems to be beyond your comprehension. They are quite important to alot of people and they are locked behind a paywall. I guarantee if endgame content was locked behind the paywall and vanity wasn't you would be just as mad as people on the other side of the spectrum. Again this game isnt just "Level to 50 and do endgame raids" no there is much more in this game than that and people are trying to lessen the value of non combat content.

I don't blame Yoshi for these items being put in the cash shop, him and the team poured sweat,blood,tears, and their souls into remaking this game. I give benefit of the doubt that the powers that be are telling them what's going into the cash shop. If I was the guy that made some new paint and a suit came up to me and said "Yeah that's going to the cash shop.", I'd be pissed that this item I made is gated behind paying cash for it when it could of been put in game for all players to enjoy. Think Yoshi is rubbing his hands together with an evil smile when they decided to make Eternal Bond a cash shop gimmick? I highly doubt so, they all play this game as well why would they wanna spend cash on content they had to make?
