I'm still looking for 2-braided blonde mithra back @ Vana'diel to be my soul mate. Any chance I can find one in Eorzea? XD

No one ever asks me to marry them. ;~;
Wouldn't it be easier to find a waifu on your server forum?
Oh god I'm seeing it now. "Matchmaking services 1M pst" all over Mor Dhona.
...*sighs and goes to set 1M to the side*
dayum now only if I can make that 1m and marry all the girls I want.
there's a real science to my match making methods! *finds nearest cat guy*
My method of finding love was to just start telling people they're my new bride to be, eventually one stuck, 4 months later she's still around and willing to wed.
Yeeaaaahhhh... I don't know why people are getting so worked up over this in-game marriage nonsense. <.<
I was standing around in Uldah the other day and some Mithra girl was dancing and poking people, and nobody was responding... So she said "Do you all think I'm ugly or something?" What I wanted to say was "I don't know, I can't see you. your character is kind of cute, in a pixel kind of way, but you're being pretty annoying right now."
But maybe I'm just lonely and grumpy and unable to feel joy due to the complete lack of love in my life!
eHarmony's a ripoff, by the way. Bunch of scam artists.
Amazing...ly adorab...ly CREEPY!!! lolSaw this on a facebook page, amazing...ly adorable.

Actually...
Getting married basically amount to signing a piece of paper at city hall (at least, in the US). Any kind of ceremony basically amounts to nothing more than fluff in terms of "legality". You can have all the full blown weddings you want, but until you sign that paper you're not married in the eyes of the law (and the IRS).
Most people, though, consider the fluff to be the "real" wedding. It's the part that they remember fondly (or bitterly, in some cases). It's the part they spend the most money and emotion on. If you and your significant other decide to hold your wedding in-game, then it can be as legal as any other type of wedding as long as you sign the proper paperwork in real life. (And, sadly, it could well be significantly less tacky than some of the deplorable real-life wedding ceremonies I've been unfortunate enough to read about.)
It would actually surprise me if somewhere, someone hasn't had a "virtual wedding ceremony" already. I'd think someone would have done it by now, simply to be the first to do so.
But can you accidentally get married in game? Will your partner be able to point out your in-game wedding and claim that bwahahaha, you're married to me for real, my pretty? No. Just no.
