Should of asked that too...forgot about how many slots each equipment get, if it's only 1 or if some can equip multiple. From how they responded seems like 1 imo but should of checked lolI seriously hope that non-crafted gear like faction items or dungeon rewards that can't be HQ'ed get more materia slots / better materias / materia effect boost.
Unless they change the whole HQ system that is pointless on armors unless you're tanking (and a bit OP on weapons making Ex ones completely useless).
This is also indirectly linked to the stat/attributes revisions, so I'm really looking forward to see what's their own global plan now that we have some content worth min-maxing for.
I would have to find the quote but didn't they say that it'll be possible to add 1 materia easily but adding a second one would be a risky operation?

In that same area (Edit: it was in this thread) they said you can only put one materia on a piece of gear BUT there is a forbidden technique to place an additional materia on the piece of gear with a high risk rate.

I think that was for gear in general. And thats what we see with this current ear from 1.18. The dungeon weapons are better than their +1 (and sometimes +2) crafter counterparts, but the +3 crafted weapons are superior to the dungeon weps.

I'm not sure if I invented this part in my head or they actually said it but I think you will lose the piece of gear if the second materia enhancement fails.
