Seems like the play style would be very similar to the ninja where you perform specific combinations of three to get a desired effect. Very interesting indeed. Also damn that anime is old, reminds of evangelion days and pokemon kanto region.



As far as I know, the only "MRD"-related thing in Musketeer is the guild location: Coral Tower, along with the MRDs, much like how ARM and BSM are in the same building.



This may be true but does not ignore how "out there" that concept is. You'd need to create lore for it and a place for it to come from (my money being on being of Allagan origin). Limsa is out since the yellowjackets that do use guns are just normal people using guns. Putting this sort of thing with the yellowjackets would smell of shoehorned so much that it'd technically be FFXIV's first loreLOL development. Lose-lose if they do that since it would make this yet another year those two muskets behind the axe in the coral tower entrance mean absolutely nothing gameplay-wise.
PS: @OP - there's a reason no one talks about FF:U. Same reason why self-professed "true" FF fans scoff at the existence of Mystic Quest. >.>
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

As for how it could be implemented lore wise. You could be the first as an experiment in how the class would work! Being given different "soils" to test out in combination and report back your findings to the guild.

It needs this battle theme when we start mixing.A few people have brought up the Magun and FFU as a possible idea for how the mysterious gun class might be. And honestly, it's as good a theory as anyone has right now.
It would be very interesting for gameplay, quick loading different types of bullet to create a powerful debuff. A class that deals almost exclusively in DoT damage would be quite interesting in my opinion.
