You can make your mage look like a tank if you're glorious legacy master race and saved your dated gear. What it should say is:
A22: Unfortunately, there’s a certain image that we would like to sustain for FINAL FANTASY XIV legacy players. We feel that it would confuse thenew playerslegacy players if they see new player casters in heavy armor and tanks in mage gear.
My kingdom for practical adventuring footwear on a mage. =CThis so much. A shame considering there are a lot of people with "dated" gear that can glamour armor on any job/class.
It's glamours for a reason.. and isn't fair that Ms. Bimbo Baggins can wear her very revealing clothing on her tank yet I as a mage can not even wear sabatons. I mean look at Louisoux, Yda, and Papalymo...
I would find it confusing if say the healer were dressed in garb normally reserved for MNK or DRG.
I'm not an expert, i have only made 2d games with a group of friends, but from my experience i can tell you that making every class wear everything could be tricky, first of, i'm sure SE and the players want to avoid jobs glamouring other's AFs, just because of this they can't make everything wearable by everyone, because the current system uses the class assigned to the piece of gear to set a restriction. To solve this they would have to modify the core of the gear system and every piece of gear in the game, to add another "stat" to these items, this stat would be something like "glamour restriction", i don't want to cause a fight here, but adding another "stat" means more code, which is work time, and memory, and because of ps3 this may not be possible.
Of course they could save all this work by just removing the restrictions, but this would mean having PLDs with whm AF, and well, i don't mind about swimsuits and all, but i would like to have certain coherence within the glamour system.
If you wanted the truth OP here you have it, i don't like it but we can do nothing for now.
