    Mimic regular enemy
    =====================
    They should make it so that one would randomly be generated into the dungeons they added (and are adding).

    Hydra / Leviathan NM
    =====================
    This fight can take place on the boat after the even as been triggered by all party members.

    Dragoon bandits NM
    =====================
    They could come riding on small dragons to attack the airship you're riding on (with the triggered event, of course). After defeating the weak dragoons, the boss comes riding in on a larger dragon.

    Siren NM
    =====================
    Through the mazes of the Black Shroud, you'll hear singing..follow the voice (ocarina of time style....the siren's location is randomized in 5-6 different locations...maybe even 8). Once found, she unleash energy, opening a vortex that teleports you into another dimension for the fight. You can touch her corpes after the fight to get teleport back

    Shape-shifters regular enemies
    =====================
    They can shift into you and have access to all of the skills you have set

    Evil Chocobos regular enemy
    =====================
    While Chocobo that roam the fields. They travel in packs.

    The Rebels regular enemy
    =====================
    Whenever you're out on a Grand Company mission, there is a chance these guys will ambush you.

    Zombies
    =====================
    Because why the hell not? Maybe we can even get a huge grim reaper like monster attack once you've killed off his minions.

    The grim reaper idea reminds me of Persona 3, where if you spend too long in a specific area killing mobs a really powerful death god sort appears and proceeds to kick your ass lol.

    I really cant stress enough the need for less Marmots/Puks/Coblyns and instead have more /Amajaal/Ixali/Kobolds/Sahagins for every level range, but keep them zone specific. That is one great thing i miss about XI is that no matter your level, you always have the chance to run into some awesome looking beastmen enemies nearly wherever you went.

    More beastmen of all levels please. It helps remind you who your main rival in the region is.

    Aside from that, I can't think of the last FF game that had a bear in it, so that'd be something interesting to see. Lions are awesome too. I want lions. I'm not biased at all!

    I think overall, though, there should be more focus on beastmen/demons/elemental types and less on common animals. It helps you feel more heroic if you just spent 5 minutes struggling against an evil looking demon or undead type than if you almost got killed by an overleveled marmot. I know the old FFXI saying "no matter what level you are, there's a rabbit somewhere that can kick your ass" but it's not very heroic for 90% of your kills to be animals minding their own business.

    I also would like to see more "demons" like those from FFXI. They were my favorites.

    But to try something new, I'd like to see the developers resurrect some of the extinct animals that used to live on this planet -- particularly the types that most people don't know about (like those shown in the BBC's "Walking with Monsters" and "Walking with Beasts". No dinosaurs here, but giant scorpions, Arthropleura, Dimetrodon, Gorgonops, Scutosaurus, Lystrosaurus, Andrewsarchus, Paraceratherium, Hyaenodon, Chalicotherium, and Megatherium. The efts already look like Hynerpeton, so why not build on that? Also, if the game were to ever include the ability to swim and fight underwater (like in WoW... one of the few things I loved about that game), they could add creatures like Orthoceras, Dunkleosteus, Basilosaurus, or Liopleurodon.

    Of course the nice thing here is that as long as the reconstructions aren't entirely ripped from the BBC's work, you don't have to worry about copyright, as you do with D&D stuff.

    Heehee. FFXI did have many Monty Python and the Holy Grail moments with wee bitty bunnies. It's kinda embarrassing to limp back to town after having your rear end handed to you by a lady bug in this version.

    I'm personally for more "monster" brand of mobs as opposed to "fauna" creatures to battle. It breaks my heart to fight and slay a cute and innocent marmmot or dear merely for the misfortune of spawning in my current camping grounds. Even the zombie styled dogs/wolves of the game I cannot fight. They have a whining dog sound effect upon death that is like a stab through my heart as a dog lover. Or early on in the game when roaming adventurers would find that they've unintentionally collected a flock of little lost lambs. The lambs yearning for a shepard, only to be met with a cold blade. It just makes me so sad. ; ; I don't like killing the animals.

    More imaginative or aggressive monster type mobs though are fine. Especially kobolds that mess up my botany leves. Death to kobolds! Heehee. A new creature doesn't have to be exceptionally formidable in appearance, just look creative and original enough. Like coblyns.

    More FF staple mobs I'm sure are incoming. The only thing that ever turned me off on the console series foes are excessive use of jewelry on wild monsters. Who makes a twenty foot earrings and bracelets for a behemoth and how was it put on it? Do the monsters have their own fashion mall they visit? Well I guess they all carry gil....

    Dunno if this was suggested already, but maybe throw in Ozma somewhere? The swirly planet thing found in FFIX and also the earlier FF games. Maybe he could be an NM, or a super secret boss that's hard to find, hard to fight, and drops some epic items if anyone can defeat it O.o

    I know this is a "normal monster" suggestion thread, but all other good ideas seem to be taken.

    I wonder when/if Coeurls will debute, they have been mentioned by NPC's in the game. the Limsa miquote Hero "Not sure of her name" states.

    Curiosity killed the Coeurl!

    Yesterday while helping a friend with Spitfire an idea came in mind...Imagine a giant serpent-like NM popping in one of coerthas lakes (randomly)

    They adding an ??? point at lake's border to show when its up...checking the ??? with a bunch of fishes (maybe 20 or 30 freshwater fare of any type...maybe 10 of a specific fish...who knows) would generate an animation of setting them as bait at border and, a bit after, the serpent would jump from water and start eating it. Only the head and the long neck, of course. I'd use the mythological name of Orochi (the 9-heads serpent...or can be Zahak, which i actually like more than Orochi for obvious reasons) due the fighting mechanics regarding it.

    You could engage the head while its near the border. But from time to time it just moves to the center of lake, only being in nuke/ranged attack range, and reading a breath cone AoE attack.

    Every time it loses 10% of its HP a brand new head comes out of water. every head has the very same mechanic, working like a separated monster (so debuffs would actually affect only one head individually instead of the monster as a whole) but with them all having shared HP so, if a head moves behind the melees can just move to another one. This would leave 9 heads when its at 10% HP. To prevent AoE exploit, the heads become resistant every time a new one pops in proportion to the number of heads...example:

    1 head = takes 100% damage
    2 heads = takes 50% damage
    3 heads = takes 33% damage
    4 heads = take 25% damage
    and so on...

    This would be so when using AoEs it actually keep losing HP in the same rate as when it had only one head...or the damage would grow substantially every time a head pops (if a player would nke it for 200, with 5 heads taking 200 it would become 1000 per nuke, which is no good. The idea is that with 5 heads the very same nuke that dealt 200 before would be dealing 40 now so, when it hits all heads it would still deal 200 total).

    I think this kind of fight would be extremely fun and require large amounts oof strategy.
