Regardless, I think there's some level of tongue-in-cheek/metadesign going on - the Warrior of Light going through estabilished trials and tropes of the genre. As long as it's done with irony/humor and the dosage is well-balanced, it's not a problem: as I have the feeling that with all the things being advertised for Heavensward, there will be a tighter plot to follow anyway.
