My Desynth skills are ARM and BSM, so I have to craft all the trade-in items for an Artisan tool, or gather the stuff for Foragers Dolabra with my miner. with an 80% Success rate I've lost my last 4 Foragers Dolabra, for nothing. More often than not, I get Darksteel nuggets. An Ingot is my acceptable loss, since I cna do other things and profit on it. But an NQ Darksteel nugget? That's worthless to me.

I'm ALC, BSM, and ARM so I know those feels.

I haven't gotten to the point that I will bother blowing up artisan tools, but the desynth is such a disappointment. Not just the RNG, but the absurd imbalance between the ease of leveling some classes and the rewards. GSM is a joke to level and easily the best source of Mastercraft Demimateria, which is quite literally required for progressing your crafters. Not to mention accessories are generally cheaper to craft than weapons/tools and armor pieces. The entire right hand side for Darklight and i90 accessories are all GSM.

Meanwhile, you have LTW, WVR and ARM that have the left hand side split amongst them for RNG. ALCs can't even get Mastercrafts.

Then there is the frustration of succeeding a 75% desynth 3 out of 12 times. Would it be too much to ask to have your desynth increase a bit on a failure if you are going to have Golden Saucer gambling mechanics
