Roulettes have daily bonus that you can get only once which is 35 poetics in Expert. I assume you did Expert roulette atleast once before going with your friend and it was first one of the day for him. You got normal reward for clearing dungeon 40 poetics and everyone else got normal 40 + daily bonus 35 = 75 poetics.

Yes, a friend just advised me that the daily reset is a different time, so Im not sure how to retract this bug report but my apologies for believing otherwise. Is there a listing on the reset times for dailies/roulettes etc?

Daily stuff resets at midnight Japan time. Weekly stuff resets on Tuesdays at 5 PM Japan time.

Google+Math to figure out when that is for you. Adjust accordingly twice a year if you live somewhere that does Daylight Savings Time, since Japan does not.
