Yeah, they confirmed several months ago that they're going to include Triple Triad as a card game, possibly coming when they implement the Golden Saucer.

Q30: Are there any details that you can reveal about the Gold Saucer?
A30: We are planning to implement chocobo racing and the “Triple Triad” card game. Other than that, we have plans to implement a basketball shooting-like mini-game and an active event that will take place within the Gold Saucer. Please stay tuned!

Thanks for sharing this link! I did know they were making a card game (recently heard it will be a Triple Triad style game rather than Tetra Master) but what you posted is confirming my single greatest hope for the card system, that it can be played via mobile and linked to the actual MMO game. This has me super stoked! Now I can be even more addicted to FFXIV than before and play *while I'm on break* at work!

Triple Triad was confirmed awhile ago, yes, but the news about working with the app is both new and incredible.

What's the difference between triple triad and tetra master? I don't know much about either except triple triad is the card game from FFVIII?

Tetra Master was the card game from FFIX, and also had a Playonline release with FFXI that you could play for a $1 subscription fee.
