Not even gonna explain it, re-read it until you understand.

On another topic, I see you're getting used to singling me out now huh? Did I hit a nerve with this and the previous question?

Did any of us complain about having to choose between walking or running? My point is people are complaining when they are able to take the long route, when they are not forced to take the shortcut.

    Pretty much this ---v

Cry as much as you want, if you want your big areas with half an hour to travel from point A to point B XI is still alive and kicking, waiting for you.

To the other extreme on this point. What if you could warp anywhere on the map if you wanted too? There has to be some sense of world in the game.

But why do you care what other people are doing? Why do you care if it's just an option and not being forced to you? How you perceive the world is entirely up to you, you cannot force your views on others, just like no one can force you to use the teleport feature.

Don't stress so much over it, just play the game the way you want to and let others do it as well.

Your probably wondering what C is, Well it's when you go to the forums to complain about an already extremely easy task, trying to make even easier. I don't want to do this but I'll be your ambassador to C for the next 5 minutes. *Welcomes you to C*
Others already replied to your question.

Telling me to stop and smell the roses does not mean anything if I have to trudge through miles of roses every single time I need to get somewhere. I can't even count the number of times I have had to go to Vesper Bay, just to talk to Minfilia or Urianger for a story quest, then immediately head back to where I came from on the other side of the world. And do you know what that process is? I warp to Limsa Lominsa, then use the city's aetheryte to get to the Arcanist's guild, then run over to the boat that takes me to Vesper Bay. Or alternatively, warp to Ul'dah, and either take a Chocobo Porter or manually ride all the way to Vesper bay. Why do I need to do this? Is this making the game more enjoyable? Because I assure you, it sure does not feel like it.

There is nothing fun, interesting, nor exciting about travelling the path between Dragonhead and Whitebrim for the 800th time. If the world had more to offer, this would be a different story. Right now? Nothing but an additional time sink.

Because what other people are doing effects how I enjoy the game? It's simple really.

At the most basic level instant teleportation has had massive effects on how the game itself is played.

Let me just say that as a contributor to the community from day 1, the only thing I feel other people should be suggesting is what they feel would make the game more enjoyable for them. It's more transparent and avoids people using the ever nebulous term "Majority, others, us" instead of saying what they are feeling.

I think the world having a travel time from point A to B is a big part of the game, community, economy, and other factors in the game. I'm looking at how the games systems and suggested changes will effect me and my enjoyment of the game.

There is no meaningful content on the game world, hunts were the only thing that resembled it. The world as it stands is just a lobby you sit in while you wait to go into instances which compromise the actual game content. If I could just sit in town, watch cutscenes to catch up with the latest stuff and then go into instances the game wouldn't be that much different for me (Or many players). The world has no life to it, no reason to it, it's just a bunch of fetch quests, fate zergs and running from A to B and beating up some garbage mobs on the way.

If there -were- some magic to the game world (In my opinion, there is none as of right now) I would be all for abolishing aetherytes entirely, but unfortunately that is currently not the case.
