    Casual players & Hardcore gamers

I think it's too easy and fast to level up to 50. Slower leveling up would be better. I know you guys wanna please casual gamers, not just hardcore ones but make Class quests easy and Job Quests hard, separate class level from job level! Add an option to Duty Finder for players to choose if they wanna play with casual gamers (they could lvl up classes easy) or hardcore gamers (we could lvl up jobs harder)! It really ruins the fun for hardcore gamers to wait 30 minutes in Duty Finder and get a party made from 50% casual players who can't even play their class! Also I'm sure casual players don't enjoy getting yelled at for not playing good enough. I think many people quit playing FFXIV for this problem on both casual and hardcore side. (I read in /shout in Limsa that a Rogue actually wanted to uninstall FFXIV cuz he couldn't find the 3rd bomb in the Rogue's final quest! lol)

By the way I love ninjutsu and that you actually have to learn the combinations instead of "push the button"!

Slower doesn't always mean better or that someone will be more "experienced". If you are leveling up very fast, you're probably playing the game a lot just to level up quickly. People can be carried or play with friends no matter how fast or slow they go.

Also, casual and hardcore cannot be defined by the game when players have their own views on what makes someone casual or hardcore.

Break out the fire-hoses and attack dogs! The casuals are sitting in at the Party Finder!

They need a balance, this is true.

However. No matter what you do there is going to be QQ from one side or another. Make everything to easy the hardcore group rage and move on. Make everything to hard the casuals rage and move on sooner than they would normally. Put a mixture of content or balance rewards to match content so everyone has something to do, ppl who only play an hr who cannot access the "hardcore" content will go bananas and "hardcore" players wont touch the easy stuff since its irrelevant and instead will work on the high tier content they were given... oh wait.

I think you're confusing the definitions of "casual player" and "bad player".

What does being casual have anything to do with not knowing their class?

I.M.O, Players should communicate better with each other, and if they end up with half a party of casual, inexperienced players, to take the time and educate them on how a dungeon works. This made last ST run much more fun instead of having people rage against each other in the alliance chat.

I do, however, agree on the difficulty topic. Though it is the player him/herself who decides on the pace they are going in the end.

Hardcores are people who devote many hours a day to playing.

Thats it. Thats the sole difference.
I fall into the 'casual' camp. Yet i play better than a lot of people who significantly outgear me in Second Coil/Final Coil drops.
Just because we dont play for as many hours a day as you do doesnt make us any worse at the game.
There are plenty of people who fall into the Hardcore camp and yet are abysmal at their Jobs.

You mistake your definition of "casual" for "one who does not play their role effectively". It seems you equate "casual" and "new" players with "bad" players.

"Bad" players don't understand the mechanics of their role and refuse to listen to advice. If the dragoon isn't doing his skills in the correct order, the black mage isn't using blizzard because it does less damage despite needing to recover mp, or the paladin isn't using flash because it doesn't do any damage; These are examples of players you could consider "bad" for their lack of basic understanding of how the class/job they chose works all while ignoring your pleas to do the intended rotation.

    "Casual"
has gotten the stigma of people who just play like candy crush or something. In actuality, casual players in this game are generally skilled enough to do most non super high end content. They are at the disadvantage gear-wise, however, due to restraints (time, family, work, hobbies, health, etc.) or sheer lack of will power to grind up to i130 like the super "hardcore".

"New" players are a different story. If you do a roulette and get say Amdapor Keep with a first timer, is that player bad because his or her gear isn't over i90? If he/she gets shoved off the edge on Demon Wall because they didn't know facing directly north is vital when DW does repel? Or if you do Ultima HM with new people and the tanks don't know about swapping and others don't know what to do on orbs, are they bad? No! They're new!

Or is that player who couldn't find the 3rd bomb bad? I doubt it. The bomb he was likely unable to find is down a ramp. And unless you know the layout of Limsa's decks, you may not notice the ramp leading down. It's probably hard to notice it if you don't have your camera angled so you can see the lower floor. I'm sure there are plenty of people who wouldn't have found it if they hadn't explored Limsa or if the Hullbreaker Isle quest didn't take you down that ramp. Now put yourself in the shoes of someone who may not have even done Brayflox normal mode yet.
