Raids are for raiders. Dungeons and primals are for ppl like us. Crafts and melds are for ppl like us. Quests and story too. We can still keep up on the gear curve without hitting the raids.
This is what I find ridiculous.

You are implying that raiders don't have a "busy life".

All you need for raiding is some hours during the evening a couple times a week. And voilà! You are suddenly a raider.

Please do not bring the "busy life" card into play. It's quite stupid.

    Problems

I think the biggest problem people run into while using DF for these things is people that will stick around. People go into EX fights and turns expecting round 1 success. There are a lot of factors to why getting into one of these fights with people you don't know is going to require more than one attempt. For starters, you have to learn how these people play. Everybody has a different play style. So we have to get use to how other people play. As a healer I have to watch how the other people play. Do they use CS and wait until somebody is almost dead before they pop out of it and start curing? Do they have a Regen rotation? Does the tank pop skills at the right time? Is he using CDs correctly? Do the DPS avoid AoEs? People need to learn you can't quit after a couple attempts.

Using DF you are going to get people that have never done these fights before. So they need time to learn. You can watch all the videos you want to watch. It's putting those tricks into effect that is the tricky part. Give people time. Don't give up so easy. If you notice somebody doing something wrong, coach them on what to do that could make them better. You're not going to get the best group ever using the DF, so you need to make due with what you have. Don't forget, everybody has a different play style. Just because that is not how you would play the job, doesn't mean that they are playing the job wrong.
