PvP is dead. Fix it SE.

Over the last 3 days I decided to try out some PvP and I've had absolutely no luck....

3 times i've been queued for over 120 minutes during prime time and didn't manage to get in. It did 3 times pop yesterday (past the 100 minute mark) but there was always one person who didn't accept the duty (hardly a surprise that people would go afk with a queue this long).

Anyway, enough of my sob story. PvP is pretty much dead and it needs to be revived. I don't care how you do it SE, but I want to get my Wolf Marks and to beat the aether out of other people (and the Maelstrom).

Offer more tomes for fl, and start offering them for Wolves Den maybe?
Or a Daily PvP Roulette could be introduced.
Or whatever else people can come up with :P

So please PvPers, and non PvPers sick of hearing us whine, speak out and demand a solution from SE.

What PvP are you trying to do? Wolves den or Frontlines. You will have better luck, Better experience with it, and Better rewards doing frontlines. Also, what datacenter are you on?

Not sure I agree. A lot of times the average queue time will say "More than 30 minutes" yet I consistently get near-instant queues despite that. It might just be bad luck or a lot (or not a lot) of people in your particular GC are queueing up.

PVP is the most fun I have in this game. That said, I am all for anything that keeps it going so I don't mind any of the improvements you're suggesting.

Frontlines is pretty much alive last week. Max. queue for me was around 20 Minutes, while averarge 5-10.

Frontlines could easily be renamed Flatlined. It's an appropriate moniker for something which never really saw its glory days to begin with.

I'm not sure what SE can do to 'fix' PvP though. It's empty because most prefer the PvE content and spend their time either gathering new equipment, harvesting or crafting. Wolf marks are an utterly meaningless currency. The gears aren't that awe-inspiring even as a glamor, and there is nothing else worth spending the marks on. At a stretch they're useful for desynthesis skill ups.

If PvP is ever going to compete with PvE it needs to be more imaginative. Right now it's your standard 'capture the zone' and 'all out brawl' modes, which are mechanics so stale that their hardened crusts could probably deflect a bullet by now. It won't happen any time soon though, and that's fine with me. PvP has a lot of balancing issues to figure out before they worry on adding new modes.

The governing issue here is that PvP is an afterthought. The devs do not come out with PvP content every patch like they do with PvE, so once players reach max rank, there is absolutely nothing else to look forward to. This also leads to the other problem you stated which is a lack of variety. I'm primarily a PvP player and I admit that frontlines gets tedious after a while.

i think alot of people are just putting efort atm into the PvE content because they want to catch up or are running final coil etc etc. in 1-2 months pvp might be more alive again?
