Why not address that instead of debating whether or not dps while healing is a good idea because your internet words won't change their philosophy.     It's because it's non-issue. SE made a mistake in the first place by giving healers any kind of accuracy on i110 gear. I always asked, "why did they give us accuracy if it's not enough to hit accuracy caps in the hardest content? We have enough to not miss on trivial content...so why give us a little bit more that gives nearly 0 impact on hard stuff?"

    Maybe SE is pushing the idea that healers should forsake MND/VIT for more accuracy if they want to DPS.

    Thanks man. I don't really care about what other people think about the merits/demerits of dps'ing as a healer. I'll do it because it helps my raid. If you don't do it, that's fine too (though I reserve the right to judge you for it silently).

    What I want to know is why they decided to undertune the amount of accuracy on new gear. This obviously 100% doesn't matter to 99% of the playerbase who is not a world-first oriented progression raider since all dps checks in this game can be outgeared over time. However, in full i110 (aka old BiS), there is an upper limit to the amount of damage 4 DPS and 2 tanks can do with perfect rotations and that's a hard limit based on damage calculations and math. Sometimes this hard upper limit is smaller than the raid dps that the fight requires---I would definitely say this is the case with T10 and T11 which is where my raid is at right now. Thus, healer dps is the only way to exceed that limit and meet the hard enrage timer. Look at all of the Lucrezia world first kill videos and you'll see healers dps'ing as hard as they can and they STILL only barely meet enrage timer in some of them. Obviously the healer dps "requirement" is relaxed as the raid's gear level increases and the 4 DPS / 2 tank damage output can meet the raid check without the healer's contribution. However, that doesn't change the fact that 1) devs want healers to be able to hit stuff in endgame content and 2) they did not add enough accuracy in this patch to satisfy #1.

    its almost as if dps were able to get FCoB drops and ironworks gear to help meet dps requirements if they are lacking. *Gasp*

    Coil3 has been cleared already. My static is halfway through T13 right now and this is the first fight that we've spent more than 2 days on to learn.

    More gear isn't necessary to clear as has been proven. Now it's just the sum of gear+skill+time for the other groups that needs to exceed the clear threshold (mine included).

    What is intended versus what has been done usually isn't the same. I'm sure SE didn't expect players to burn through all of Final Coil in under a week but that's what happened.

    As someone else mentioned--I too suspect it's for soloing. Some non-raid content has surprisingly high acc caps (i.e. your level 50 base acc is not enough for some hunt mobs). Storyline encounters in this patch, while still not a serious threat if you're paying attention, aren't quite the joke that level 50 mobs tuned to ilvl55 are.

    While a healer can DPS, it is not their specialty. They should have less accuracy then the dps jobs. Healers should be gimped on certain dps attributes, because they are not dps. This is not some kind of oversight by the devs.

    so then why wear gear at all? Let's take that argument to the logical extreme. if you're that skilled why don't you all raid in bikinis? show off all those mad skillz yo
