For a future high level raid, would you like to see...?

A REALLY HARD DUNGEON? This would be a turn of course, and not the entire raid. Imagine T3, just make it hard. No boss at the end, but just a ridiculously hard dungeon (still lots of mechanics and such).

Personally I'd like a dungeon where a near invincible monster is chasing you and you have to clear mobs before he catches you. Imagine wanderer's palace, but with placing mobs in certain locations like placing the heads in Qarn normal. While dealing with monsters that can cause hysteria/stun/silence, monsters that can heal others, monsters that hit like trucks and might even require time swaps, monsters with large AoEs or DoTs, and traps.

Kill order and positioning will be important as well, and of course monsters will have really high stats in general to justify a party of eight doing it. Imagine this as T14 if binding coil were to continue, an t15 you fight the monster chasing you once it enters an area that weakens it or whatever.

I guess something like t4, but you would actually move forward and not just be stuck in an arena, but that's how hard the mobs would be and such (harder obviously with gear/level cap increase).

    No one would do it.
Well, except people like me who enjoy dungeons for the experience of running the dungeon with friends.

What you are forgetting is that 99% of MMO playerbases will not do a damned thing if there is no shiny sparkly attractive reward at the end. And if the thing is HARD and doesn't give you the very best loot? Good luck convincing people to do it.

Do you really think people do Coil for "fun" and because its "difficult"? Nope. They do it because prestige and that thats where the shiny loot comes from.

Thats not to say i wouldn't like such a thing. Idea:
    Create an "Adventure" Dungeon.
This dungeon would be procedurally generated, populated with monsters that match the tileset. For example, you get an ancient ruins tileset, the mobs would be tonberries, ghosts and skeletons and forests would have Ochu's and various animals.
Bosses can be found by exploring the procedurally generated dungeon.
These bosses would be large versions of a random mob that matches the tileset of the dungeon.
The bosses would have the same abilities of the mob it appears as, So if it was an Ochu, it would have Ochu abilities.
kill the floor boss to get to a new floor.
The difficulty of the dungeon begins at say, ilvl50. There are infinite floors, each floor generates a new map based off the Main Tileset, and then a few Subsets, like a Forest Main Tileset would have Cave or Ancient Ruins subsets that it could generate a 'floor' with.
Each floor gains difficulty, scaling upwards infinitely as you continue through the floors.
At higher difficulty levels, the Boss monsters would also gain randomly selected abilities from Raid Bosses found in normal Raid Content. It'd select from a pool of abilities that don't require special mechanics to avoid, For example you might get a bird type boss that has Twintanias Divebombs.

The rewards for this kind of content could be Gil, 'Aetherial' gear with a scaling ilvl, such that if you got to a floor that was as difficult as SCOB for example, the Aetherial gear that drops in that floor would be of an ilvl similar to that of SCOB. maybe -5 or something so it cant become 'BiS must have' gear.

The random nature of such a system would mean that it'd never be the same twice.
Perhaps even have it scale to group size, so you could take just 2 people or a full alliance of 24 if you wanted to. Or even go it solo and see how far you get.

And now its 6am and i need to sleep. Apologies if thats kind .. incoherent >_>

It's funny how normal versions of dungeons are harder than the hard mode dungeons.

I'd like to see that corrected....

The only real reason I ever went through the pain of coil and ex primal is because it's a gating to progress further into FFXIV story. The loot is just a bonus,as in,it's nice to have it but I don't feel the necessity to farm the heck out of them until you get those loots.

Also on this occasion,I want to add that SE should have made seperate contents for those people who glorify shiny loots and leave story-based content out of it. I feel that FFXIV strongest point in the current MMO competition is in its graphic, sound and story and imo it's stupid to mix those final loot-based content(which should be accessible to the exclusive minority who's up to extreme challenge) with story progression(which should be accessible to the majority with moderate challenge).

Try doing them using the absolute minimum iLevel required to enter them.

Sorry but I think you might miss out the content of my post entirely. In any case I was not advocating for any sort of "repeated challenge for no reward".

Also gilgamesh is one of the few fun trials I always feel eager to do even outside of trial roulette, anytime I'm bored I just hit it up and it usually fill up fast. Can't say the same for ex primals though.

This is probably true of a great many players. Gear is secondary, the content itself is more important.

This is a super cool idea, and kind of has been done before with T4. I'd rather see this as a stand-alone end-game things aside from Coil or whatever 3.0 will bring for its 1-boss 2-loot raid zones. It would be awesome to add this as an alternative way to get geared for endgame (maybe do like...i105 if best raid gear is currently i110).

Also - Where you at, Hauc? I held a raid spot for you for 25 minutes on Tuesday!

I think it's easier because were over geared for it to start off with.
