FFXIV needs more FF-ish music (more violins and piano please!)

Mine is probably not the popular opinion, but I enjoy all the music in our game. I don't want this game to have music like other games. It's not original and I won't get the same feeling I get from story missions, primal fights and coil.

The music fits and it should stay that way.

No offense, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but when I read "more dramatic" and "more FF-ish" I have no idea what you are talking about. This thread is seriously reminding me of that scene from Lost in Translation where they yell at Bill Murray to act with "more INTENSITY!"

What does "FF-ish" music sound like? The FFVIII boss theme? FFIV's town theme? Does FFX-2 count?

I adore the music in this game! I wouldn't want them to change what is already implemented either It's really good, and I have some good memories with said music (I always get so excited when I hear Garuda's theme!)

That doesn't mean (since this game is a fan-service) that we can't request other music from other Final Fantasy's we enjoyed, doesn't have to be the exact same song, but it could be reminiscent of those other songs.

Shiva's part one song is my new favorite in FFXIV:ARR atm

I agree. I would be delighted to see more symphonic music in the style of the FFXI opening or the arrangements from Distant Worlds. Bring in Nobuo Uematsu and Arnie Roth for a few 3.0 tracks!

I also really enjoy the current music and having the mix of different styles - the transition from Shiva's intro to Shiva's rock BGM worked really well. Both pieces are so much fun to listen to.

And I love the lyrics.

Ronfaure had such good music. Ah.. XI in general had a ton of amazing tracks. Music I literally get excited when I hear it again, like Ronfaure. Spent so much time in that zone.

I like the music of FFXIV, especially when I hear something from one of the other games, so much nostalgia. Sometimes I have to just stop and listen to the loop, I've missed a few fates here & there. Soken is just okay, nothing truly memorable tho, IMO. By this I mean there isn't much I'll listen to outside the game. More Uematsu please.

I loved the way the FFXI "Memoria de la Stono"/"Distant Worlds" motif kept appearing in different songs. They were kinda opposites of each other, the first appearing during the bad times (usually around the darkness of man), the other during the good.

FFXIV does this a bit with Answers and the Halatali intro/Preatorium but FFXI injected it everywhere, not just some dungeon themes.
