    Farming Nexus

When they released Nexus it sounded incredibly easy to get. But now that I finally got my Novus, Nexus proved to be the most difficult and almost impossible upgrade to do.
Used party-finder during primetime and after waiting almost an hour only 3 people joined. And even they left after getting tired of waiting.

People who did Nexus when it just got released had a HUGE advantage over people who are doing it now. There were tons of farming parties they could join whenever they wanted. So yeah, I have no idea how to get my Nexus now. Doing regular dungeons and primals is out of the question, since the waiting times as DPS are ridiculous and you never know where the good light is.

I was fine with other relic upgrades, since you could do them all by yourself. With Nexus I totally have to rely on others. So, how did you do it? Any suggestions?

Well while you wait for wherever your DF might take you for your light, you could do fates. Fates give feeble light so with 2000 fates you would have your nexus so that is an option for you to do.
I know it doesn't sound fun but it gets the job done, another option is to do alexandrite maps they give 2 light per map just throw up a PF saying your help any one with those maps.

Just play the game the way you would do so without a Novus. You'll get light, it might just take you a month to get Nexus. But you wouldn't have to go out of your way to get it.

My last 400 light was harder than the first 1600. The patch basically killed light farming and you're now stuck grinding ST until your brain melts. Good luck.

As someone who plays a variety of classes and takes whichever is needed for the occasion, Nexus was definitely the worst step in the relic quest for me. You either grind it out or force yourself to play 1 job for everything you do.

Hi, didn't even try now, will try with ninja later but.....

Hm.. Is it really so difficult? How does it work? I saw people getting it just in two days or less, so I guessed it was the easiert upgrade after all (HAving in mind it is only 5 ilvl difference helped me to think it was easier upgrade)

You need 2000 points towards your Novus to upgrade to Nexus. Every single thing you do minus hunts adds points to your relic. It's literally the only relic where you do whatever and its handed to you. No farming stupid 700 monsters, no camping 2 hours for a fate to spawn, no saving 10m for materia and hope you're lucky. Just play the game and its yours.

Granted it takes awhile to get. But that's how the relic line has always been. *shrug*

Then those who took only few days did it spamming dungeons? And what's the bonus light? I can't understand that >.<....

(But seems funnier than indeed doing fates all the time, then doing useless dungeons and waiting for fates or killing monsters where there are only three on the map and you have to wait for 4 refreshes [Gigas Bhikku, Raging Harrier, Hex Harrier, bla bla...) and then hunt hunt, maps, spiritbond...

Farming ST for lights and upgrade items (sands, oils or unknown allagan tomestone) is possibly the fastest way atm since lots of people are doing it for ninja and alt jobs. Better jump in while it's the current fad. Queue is still longer for dps but it's not bad during prime time and weekends. I suggest daily roulettes and squeeze in as many ST runs as you can while players are farming it right now. It won't last once they get most of the items they want/need. You can also squeeze in some quick low level fates for feeble lights while you are in queue.

The ones who did it within few days spammed primals. The advantage of that is that they had a full party with well geared people with novus. They also didn't have to wait in DF since they could re-enter instantly.
And about light, this post explains it all:

Just go with a partial party next time. As soon as you get a tank or healer, your queue improves.

In any case, Nexus is probably the easiest step of the relic quest so far. You can just play the game as you normally play it and eventually your relic will upgrade. I did roulette, coil, ST, maps, fates, and Primal/dungeon farming for desynth fodder. It took me a few weeks to get it, but I really didn't go out of my way to do so.

Those that got it within a few days did a nonstop Cape Westwind grind.
