Dragoons feeling left out?

Dragoons still cant compare to Ninja because:
1. In a 4man Party dungeon, it can act as an OT if you combine with the Marauder skills.

2. It has good Combos dmg Likewise to the Monk but only higher dmg output of the pierce debuff that can help Barbs with their dmg also.

3. If a Dragoon and a Ninja were to 1v1, the ninja would lose due to their weak defense even though they can have nice dmg due to their combo skills (This was tested in a FC party vs FC Party for the Wolf Den PvP) (Also, Teamspeak) (Also we balance with Soldiery Gears+weapon+accessory for a fair 1v1)

4. Lore wise, Dragoon 2nd to the Dark Knight, has the most dangerous Job as they battle all types of wyvern, drakes and Dragoon in their endless war especially their biggest dream is the end of Bahamut. Also Ishgardian are known for their lore of their battle with the Dravarian thus employ their entire Dragoon army with some Dark Knight which was already hinted in the 2.4 Main Story if people actually notice the Dark Knight Class was actually hiddenly shown there(Spoiler)

5. Also many people think dragoons are easy to play, they are highly wrong due to dragoons needs a lot of movement between flank and behind for the combo buffs and debuffs, the use of the risky Blood for Blood for more damage, the act of OT if MT were to die in a 4party dungeon, and others. you are wrong. The Dragoon can be = to the Monk when played right.

1. In 4 man party dungeon, any dps can be OT during emergency situation

2. We have good combo and burst damage but our total output is still slightly inferior

3. No idea in this as I don't pvp

Dragoon is a little tricky due to little down time (B4B popping should be safe if you know the fight well) and our weak mdef (we tend to take around 10% more magic damage than other class in FCOB). In terms of dps, Good dragoon >/= normal/decent monk. Good dragoon << Good monkiery Gears+weapon+accessory for a fair 1v1)

Don't feel bad. Ninjas are dying in battle way more in battle than Dragoons. They make Dragoons look competent.

If I'm taking melee, I'll take the one that boosts my threat, or the one that consistently puts forth higher DPS while still allowing me to maneuver enemies as needed.

MNK and NIN, no substitutions.

You do realize MNK has flank AND rear attacks just like DRG right? DRG sits still unless they're reapplying Heavy Thrust. By the way you must play with crappy DRGs. Personally I flow with whatever the tank does. Only time I complain about positioning is if the tank is crappy and is moving the monster for absolutely no reason. It isn't too hard since, again, I only need to flank when I reapply Heavy Thrust.

DRGs are awesome DPS, I play with one all the time(BF XD). There are very few NIN doing high end content so this hasn't really affected me since I am concerned with trying to get the Primal loot and work my way up to FcoB.

I think people have 'lolDrg' ingrained into their brains at this point. It's more of stigma than fact that Dragoon is somehow weaker than other DPS jobs, and Dragoon still has one of the higher spike damage Limit Break options if they're fully buffed.

People just choose Ninja because its new, and on paper their skills seem pretty good. In terms of ACTUAL dps though, there isnt' a whole lot of difference between a good Dragoon and a good Ninja.

Just take comfort in that a ton of these NINs are inexperienced as melees and are getting smacked around like crazy at the moment. I've seen more NIN deaths than I can remember these past few days in runs.

Far from it , drg got buffed, drg get the most cool armors, thier weapons are big and impressive looking

Is the job for the next expansion based around ishgard and dragons, the new af is badass

Drg dps is now more in line with mnk. Ninja? Too soon to say , new patch new gear new bosses...

I guess it's a good thing I main dragoon and am leveling rogue/ninja.

Best of the supposed both worlds, I suppose. Still prefer dragoon over rogue right now but perhaps that's simply due to having played it for far longer and had to deal with the absolutely horrid questlines for lancer. >_>
