    Uh...
Some players have time, much time, to play the game 24/7, do all the contents at patch release and bla bla bla bla. That's why the patch isnt big enough to them and never will be.
Cash shop is OPTIONAL and while SE keep selling mounts, minions and glamour items I'll be fine with it (and I'm going buy the items I like), but if it becomes a pay to win system, I'll have reasons enough to quit.

People are already complaining about the patch? I've barely touched the content released from 2.3 (not a typo), so I'm extremely thankful to have tons of content ahead of me. At the rate I play, I will never run out of content. Thanks, FFXIV team, for consistently bringing us enjoyable content that is fun to play through more than once.

Sometimes a little complaining is beneficial. It's what helps developers fine tune and modify things so the game is for the better. If no one whined or complained, we'd probably be given very average to poor content. Just my 0.02

Qarn, Shiva and final coils are fun buuuuuut ... thats about it. I think people were waitin for more than a 2.2 - 2.3 patch all over again. Like, the new dungeons are nice but its still a freaking faceroll for the next 6 months ya know ? Game need diversity ... and its gonna come in 2.5 ... but was supposed to be a part of 2.4

Meaning 8 weeks to pay for it, and then just as many to upgrade it. Shiva is mediocre, odds are the general player will not clear her at a better rate then 1 in 10. And that's it. Rather then thinking of adding something people can use to train for content they can't clear, so they can clear it. SE threw more content at people who cant even get past titan x/t5. Adding more few can do, is about the same as adding nothing at all for most.
To correct you a little... story mode continues. This is 2.4 and the last full patch was 2.3. the last patch where they upped the tome gear etc. was 2.2, so NO not the second patch in a row. Also, it is well known that casual content is on odd numbered patches and raids on even numbered ones with some mix and match in both. So really you have no idea at all what you are talking about.

    its beneficial, when its reasonable.

the random nitpicking is worthless, and only breeds toxicity. more often than not that is what i see on these forums. even the reasonable threads sometimes just devolve into mindless cesspools after a while.

Wow, order of white knights much?

New towers - hate to break it to you, but that's not a category of its own; it's just raids for the non-hardcore (ie. those who can't dedicate 5-10 hours every week to learn and beat only one piece of content, exactly because there's so much else to do too). Dungeons - yes, two rehashed, one new. Songs and bosses - implicit with all the new content we're getting. Vanity and glamour - yey for unnecessarily overcomplicated and gated (read: illogically expensive and hard) visual stuff indeed (and why is it two separate entries?). Raids - well, yes, gotta cater for that upper 5(-10)% that burn through every content in a week and then complain about not having being bored because there's nothing to do. Hard modes - really? It doesn't even make any sense to slap the HM to the new primals, they're appropriately scaled for story mode fights at their place and you didn't see Hard next to Ifrit/Titan/Garuda in main scenario either. Extreme mode - because people who still can't even clear Titan Extreme need more Extreme primals indeed (and I don't believe that group is quite so small). PvP system - which was pretty much DoA, yeah; Frontline was a great way to breath new life into it, but I'm not sure how much that helped the Wolves' Den though (ie. they needed the new mode since the original was so dead). New class/job - because we absolutely need even more DPS just for the sake of it, because those DPS queues have not been long enough. Huge storyline - well, yeah, it's FF, kind of expected (also, huge storyline in which our own characters are like silent dolls on a string). New mounts - er, yeah, how many paintjobs on that unicorn/horse exactly? Beast tribes are great, that's true, but then again, very repetitive and quick to finish on a daily basis. The hunt system - let's not even talk about the trainwreck that the hunt system has been, a fertile soil for player toxicity for sure. Housing system - really? Yeah, we have it, but again, let's not even talk about it because availability and pricing and features (lack thereof) can do fill dozens of pages in several threads here. Bugfixes and QoL improvements - again, they're given.

Now, all that said, far be it from me to belittle any dev's work. Yes, on a large scale, things are awesome and fun to do. I know I'm keeping my subscription and continue to play because they keep me entertained enough, pulled into a world different from the real. But near everything just you mentioned also came with flaws that ruined too much of it, one way or another. Flaws that are just illogical, not thought-out, rushed - as if they were forced to pump out tons of new content every few months (personally, I've seen it said numerous times: less is sometimes more, especially if that less also means less screw-ups). And if you don't think that paying customers have a right to voice their dislike about these on the game's official forum...... Then you really are a white knight. People show their admiration and support by, guess what, actually keeping their subscriptions, sticking to the game, playing it. Buying relevant merchandise, participating in events - be they real life or online. And when they don't like something, they complain - not because they underappreciate what they do have, but exactly because they're passionate about it and don't want it ruined. Because they have (or think they have at least) ideas that might make it even better. That's the way I see it, anyhow. And yes, "random nitpicking" threads might "devolve into mindless cesspools after a while" that "breeds toxicity" (re: hunts), but does that devalue any of the actual points brought up in it? It's a social issue, not related to the technicalities of the game, that so many people can't see further than their nose and/or have no idea what respect is. Yes, you might see more complaints than praises - (perceived) flaws are things that can be discussed and given opinions about how to correct. I do see enough threads about praises and thanks too, but then, what's to discuss about this-and-that-is-so-great? Go to Tumblr for example, or just scour the internet, you'll find plenty of it. I know I do.

All in all, I don't see why giving feedback is bad just because it concerns something negative. There's not much to talk about if something's great, is there? And with so many players, there's obviously more than enough of that too, else there wouldn't be so many of us doing so much of it, would there?
