I dunno. These threads have revealed a few things:

- Lots of players feel strongly about how they look, one way or another (makes sense, since half the fun of MMOs is playing pretty princess dress-up). This is good. It means we're paying attention to the hard work of the artists for this game and more than happy to give feedback.

- There are a handful of people who have severe difficulty processing whether the criticism is about a lack of realism, or about just a poorly-conceived design that could have been thought through better. Heads up: Many have been the latter. Mine certainly is. Realism is not necessary if a design is strong or clever enough, and lots of us feel that the female DRG look just isn't a good one, realism be damned. Edit: Yes, that is an opinion.

- There's also a lot of gross misconception about what constitutes sexism -- an issue which is actually very rarely deliberate, and almost never malicious (trolls/MRAs/Gamergaters excepted), but more about a social/cultural blind spot that calls for reasoned discussion rather than flinging accusations to get anywhere when talking about.

- The difference between a troll and someone who's simply bad at communicating can be difficult to perceive at times.

Call me crazy, but XIV has to be one of the least sexualized MMO's I've played in quite a while. The models aren't especially curvy or detailed, and even swimsuits look about as innocent as they would on a toddler. I'm just saying, I think its a non-issue here.

There doesn't need to be more conservative female armor. There needs to be less. And there needs to be FAR LESS conservative male armor. Running around in a metallic gold leopard print speedo makes me titter EVERY DAY.

Oddly, DRG is the only armor I don't have glamored to it, and that's just because the pants from ST look good.

Male and female WHM trousers... On boys they are culottes, on girls they are panties.
