Even if she is "similar" to a bangaa, it wouldn't even be close; her tail is too thin compared to a bangaa's thicker tail and those....ears or whatever she has under that hood? Bangaas have nothing like that. And no way in hell is Yurgi a viera. Vieras never had tails in every game they appeared in.

Turns out, Yugiri is actually a Hyur Cosplayer, the third variety of Hyur available in the game. They can set their ears and tail to whatever they want via racial options (including the puppy ears and lizard tail that Yugiri chose), as they are not actually their ears/tails. While they can technically take off the ears and tails, their lore states that they would never do so as it would violate their most sacred tenant: staying in-character, so that option is not available in game. The Aesthetician, however, can get you new ears or tails if you want to switch it up.

Also, they get a stat bonus when using equipment with specific glamours, such as the sailor suit or the lightning/snow outfit.

As much as I'd love to see Viera, this isn't Ivalice.. Though I have this hunch her race is some sort of "dragon" race. 'u' Plus I'v never seen her "ears" move not once. So they're most definitely horns. And plus her scaly tail. I don't want to say a lizard or something like that. Because in video games, lizard people are usually of a lower class race. While dragon people are much higher. I get this feeling Yugiri is a princess or something. I can think of two reasons why she covers up: perhaps her race is like a peiste and turns people into stone when she puts her gaze on them or for modesty. Though it's probably the second reason. Mayhaps it's common for royalty back in Doman. I'm sure Yugiri is very beautiful! *^*b I'll wip something up of what I mean by "dragon" race. I'll edit this post later. 'u';

Well those are definitely floppy ears under the hood and not horns. She shows up in he main story for 2.4 in Coerthas with the wind blowing and her ears are blowing all over the place. Definitely not horns.
