Any word on auto-hiding chat box?

well, they added the option to manually hide it. but this is only HALF useful. why in the world they couldn't just implement auto-hide is beyond me. it must be a very difficult thing to do >_>

I for one would rather have the manual hide. It will let me hide it when I want to rather than when the software decides I should want to. With the automatic version, I may want to hide it immediately without having to wait for whatever the timeout is, or I may still be reading what's there when the timeout decides to hide it.

And it gets hidden during cutscenes, which will be good. It was really annoying there, where it disrupted the view with something we couldn't even interact with.

in FFXI and XIV-1.0 the auto hide was adjustable and capable of being turned off entirely. This game (2.0) there is no auto hide at all.

don't get me wrong. i am still grateful for it. and it IS still useful. but it would have been nice to see some auto-hide feature. and then the manual feature could just simply overwrite it. if you manual-hide it won't auto-show on new chat log entries.

in any case, the hide feature is still of great help. but would've loved to see an auto feature.

Wanted to bring back this thread because I couldn't see any more recent ones. It would be great if this feature would be implemented.
