Another Housing screw-over.

Just checked again on Balmung. 8:05 AM EST, 4 hours after patch, 2 small houses left in all of the Lavender Beds, all wards. I think you must be confusing some plot sizes as you run by. Congratulations on the house, though.

Thank you, I tried logging in at 4 am and couldn't after 45 min of attempts. I wanted to make sure our FC got a house after we missed out on the last patch. I went back to sleep fully expecting to miss out again.

at 6 am there're appeared to be 2-3 small plots per ward/subdivision. I purchased our land for 4.5M and change.

I was a lucky one who got on Balmung almost as soon as it was actually possible to do so, and I saw that literally every desirable small plot (such as plot 29/59) of the Lavender Beds had already been purchased before I logged on. As I write now, almost every small house is gone in the Lavender Beds after 30 minutes of open servers; about half to two-thirds of the smalls in Mist are gone; and the Goblet is lagging behind at about one third of the small houses already bought.

Of course the desirable plots are going to go first. That goes without saying. People will have to either settle or wait and hope that more housing goes in. From the forum threads, most people want the house to garden anyway; whether or not your plot is "desirable" you still have the ability to garden and to have fun decorating your house.

I think it's just a couple of servers that have problems with the amount of housing available. On mine, not even a quarter of the smalls are gone in Lavender Beds, and Goblet is barely touched. Even Mist, which historically sells out the fastest on Sargatanas, has over half of the small houses left. It's unfortunate that people on more populated servers have steeper competition for housing, but it doesn't seem like there's not much that can be done about it. :/

Excalibur Player here, woke up at my normal work time, logged on bought a [small] house (The exact one we wanted) logged off.


I'm happy of course I did buy from the Ul'dah wards, which seems completely empty. Now on to saving for a personal small house

Won't lie: My wife woke up at 3am, patched the game, woke up again at 4am and got us the house we wanted (Plot 59) in the 8th Ward subdivision of Lavender Beds. This was at 4:20am, on Sargatanas, where ALL of 59s were taken save that one.

So yeah, the wanted plots were pretty quickly sold but that's what happens with the prime locations. We had a few alternatives we wanted to get if we couldn't get 59 but we got lucky. We were also pretty dedicated to get a house and the best house and made steps, after seeing the mess and debacle that S-E has done with housing, to ensure this would happen.

It is incredibly unfortunate and frustrating to see people that have money to get a home kinda get jipped due to server problems.

However, if there is still a plot available in the area you want but not the location, I can sympathize with you but your complaining is lessened by the fact there's still some available. Suck it up and get the house in the location you want and be happy with that instead of complaining that your one spot in one area was taken.

It sucks but in a game where the housing system is the way it is right now, being managed by a company that doesn't seem to "get it" when it comes to housing, you do what you gotta do and be grateful that you at least have a house.

Only one way to fix that: Talk with your wallet. If you don't like something from a game, only way you get the point across is simply not paying for said game.

If this is an absolute dealbreaker for you, then by all means, step away from the game. I was irate the first two patches but it wasn't enough of an issue for me to quit the game cause I was still enjoying everything else from it.

I can't put anything in my wife's house so it's not even mine but at this point, I'm just grateful we had a shot at it (Granted, we were pretty ridiculous.) I`m not saying the system is perfect; it's horrendous even to this day and the fact they opened our servers at 4 effin am was rough. But it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Time to raise the housing prices on Balmung, too many rich folks over there.

On my server it may take a week for the smalls to sell out. Just hoping the large plot i want will still be there when I can get on tomorrow.

Was going to take a break and for go our large plot but that can't happen as most of the our officers on break themselves.
