    Just curious... in what version of FFVI is Fallen One renamed to "Heartless Angel"? The GBA version? The smartphone version?

    Also, just for the sake of interest, Ultimecia uses a "down to 1 HP" attack in the final battle of FFVIII, called "Hell's Judgment."

    Nael's Megaflare hits pretty hard during initial progression but there is a long break before the next damage comes in. Maybe if whole party reduced to 1HP with the next damage coming within the next few seconds would make it more exciting.

    I am just curious but why do people design attacks/actions and then put them on the forums? I have never actually seen SE implement any of these attacks.

    The ability, both for Kefka and for Sephiroth, was called 心ない天使 (literally "heartless angel") in Japanese. Like many things in VI, it was corrected in later English versions.

    The most common name for the attack from bosses in main series games is probably Maelstrom (IV, V, and IX), but it changes names more often than it stays the same.

    Obviously I'm missing something that happens in Coil. This is why they shouldn't gate important story behind raids. lol

    Which is why I am actually part of those who is strongly supporting the idea of Coil story mode. I never believed that any part of the game's lore should be gated, and thus story mode should exist.

    The whole point is the statement "it is in one game" is flat wrong. Saying "well a lot of those games are part of the same series" is shifting goal posts. Heartless Angel is an attack from several games that does the same thing. There are some other attacks with the same effect, but obv some are more well known.

    A few things:

    1) I did not specify an exact because I could not remember exacts. I said 'maybe' one game. I will concede that several games have the ability in it, however.
    2) Your initial statement was factually incorrect. You implied that this skill was 'typically' called that in FF games that it is in, when in fact it is not.
    3) You are wrong - the "goal posts" are not "shifted" by pointing out that ONE SPECIFIC CHARACTER has the attack through half of the games where it has that name. That fact is relevant. If you want to go further, the fact that Dissidia and Dissidia 012 are basically one game (012 was a remake with a prequel tacked on) reduces the overall number of games in this list and make it to where that one specific character possesses that version of the ability in MORE than half the games.
    4) The English version of FFVI didn't have the skill by that name. This reduces the list by one more. That means across the remaining games, only two unique boss characters have an attack by the name "Heartless Angel."

    All of the above prove that this is not 'typical' in FF games.
