i think its funny that healers are like "oh boy here comes all the lolninjas", when a lot of healers are still straight up trash (using jobs that were released day 1 mind you). you guys just dont hear the trash talk as often because we have to put up with what little population of you already exists. yea a lot of sucky ninjas are about to enter the fray, but hey, sucky healers have been here for a long, long time. #learn2ramuh.

There are many many many crappy Whm and Sch on this game.


Crappy WHM = sits around doing nothing, they never DPS. Then spams Cure/Cure2 all the time on the tank, even if tank is at max HP. Some of them will even use Cure3 or Medica2 even when everyone is at full health! Never uses Stoneskin or Regen.
They run out of MP on trash mobs pulls and blame the DPS or the tank. Some of them strongly believe it is a good idea to use medica2 just as tank tomahawk or shield lob a trash mob.

Crappy SCH = sits around doing nothing, no DoTs, no action, then spams Physic all the time, even if tank is at max HP. Never uses Adloquium or Stoneskin.
They usually dont run out of MP from what I've seen, since they have Aetherflow and Energy Drain (I assume they use it, since when I'm tanking I get no Lustrates or Sacred Soil and since SCH is not DPSing they aren't using Bane either... i hope...), but they will still blame the DPS or the tank. They have the fairies on auto-everything all the time. They don't even know the Obey command exist at all.


If you ever did a dungeon as tank and have not met a crappy whm or sch that fits the above description, you haven't played tank enough in dungeons or trials with randoms.

I've been known to put Eos away when faced with especially bad DPS.

I once, took Eos away, and explained calmly to the (yes sadly) LNC that I would NOT get it out until he stopped running off pulling his own mobs, and started attacking the actual mob the tank was MARKING. I mainly took this stance because it was Tam-tera and also because the tank was brand spanking new, and obviously trying so damn hard to do everything in his power to 'tank correctly' that I felt something needed to be done. Oh and because I was the 3rd healer according to the other DPS that they had queue in that dungeon run with them (the other 2 left b/c they couldn't stand the chaos the lnc (also low level) was causing.

He died 3 times...and then DC'd before final boss.
Everyone else lived a wonderful life and was happy happy. We beat final boss on first attempt as a 3-man.

I don't often go to such drastic measures...but hot damn, that was an annoying run/day.

To be fair, there are crappy players on ALL jobs. And when a new one comes out, it is a GOOD thing that at least most of the healers here don't expect perfection from those learning a role literally hours old. It's good that those who wish to help by queuing 'low levels' are preparing to have a sense of humor and choosing to laugh it off rather than get all butt-hurt over having to potentially put in a little extra time/effort while people figure it out. (and I plan on doing this with both my SCH and my PLD to help out...my main is WHM, but at early levels, SCH is sooooo OP I'd rather take it)

I have had plenty of Crappy tanks too....but not really complaining about it here. Lastly, one thing I've found (and this will likely be true of ROG/NIN too) is that many of the 'less than stellar' tanks/healers you end up with DO NOT main that class...or even 'secondary' it....they are literally rolling it for the 'quick queue' Most dedicated tanks and healers (and specific-job dps btw), and at least modestly good at their role.

PS: I will go on the record with this: I will likely be a 'derp' ROG/NIN when I get around to leveling it as well. Why? Well, it's not really my thing/type of roll and I'd mostly be leveling it because it's the only role I won't have to 50. I fully expect to be the LOL-NIN sometimes as well. It's all good.
