There is no good way to get SP mate. 1.18 killed it.

360sp per amaal'ja for a 36-41 party ( we were 5) at the thanalan beastmen settlements (of course for the higher level beastmen) would like to disagree with your statement.
people should try to play the game instead of spouting uninformed negativity.
I do play it. The only way to get a party is to A. Use the fail party search system with what.. 3% success rate? Or, shout in Ul'dah with what.. 4% success rate? Or prey others in your Ls are the same rank, on the same time, and interested in ranking that class with you... 10% success IF your LS is the same rank as you.... which mine isn't.

Hahaha. So accurate.I do play it. The only way to get a party is to A. Use the fail party search system with what.. 3% success rate? Or, shout in Ul'dah with what.. 4% success rate? Basically this.
All depends on what the ls does.
If they are a social which mainly just talks chances are it will be semi hard to get partys.
If you have a ls that is focused more on a planned event structure everyone knows when to be on and the chances for a party are near 100%. (I know this for a fact since this is how my ls operates).
If you form a static with people you meet and get a small LS for that, chances of partying assuming you all plan when to do it is near 100% as well. (several people in my ls are doing this on some jobs before my LS's event times)
While is suck the community as a whole is being stubborn about forming party like we did in XI, party so is by far the best way to go by a large margin. I am hoping after enough time passes and people realize how hard it is to solo compared to Group the partying will pick up again. Search is different then XI but it does work... as Alexi said it works like 3% of the time because like 0.5% of the community uses it. Get 50% of the community using it a party will take like 30secs to form in prime times.
How fast were you killing (1 per minute, 2 per minute?), how are the respawns? What did you make per hour (20k - 40k/hr) ?
I've seen R35s solo them in about 30 seconds flat, and they take about as long to respawn (and 4 of them respawn).
Party grinding is flat-out the best way to get SP.
For solo play, levequests and sidequests combined will get you a good amount of SP.
And only some of the levequests give bad SP now, while some of them are pretty easy sauce (the R20 Gridania one with the Foraging Doe's and the Swarm of Bees comes to mind, I could solo both of those on 3 Stars once I got used to CON changes). The bees die in two or three spells and give 180+ SP each and there's a lot of 'em, the Foraging Doe's gave 200+ and there were at least 4 of them.
EDIT: SP/hour may have been reduced for solo play, but if you play 2-3 hours after that and do some party grinding/questing, you will notice that you are getting more SP than pre-patch.
Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh
id say its about 20k an hour(varies depending on your rank) cuz they dont respawn fast enough, add in that alot of people are crowding some of the camps
and before anyone says thats slow....getting a rank in 3-4 hours is never slow for an mmo
getting a rank in 1 hour is actualy extremely fast for mmo standards(for all mmos, especialy near endgame) which is what we had before

sorry for the late respond, we were killing pretty fast, like 30-40 seconds per mob, the respawn rate was pretty good as well, but sometimes you have a little downtime if you kill too fast. sorry i didnt really check what the sp/hr was i usually just take what i get, but i think 25k+/hr should be possible, im not much of a number cruncher. also it was alot of fun ^~^
