    Not needlessly cruel, the Beast Tribe dailies were supposed to kickstart people into crafting. The new crafted DoLH gear is a natural extension of this, but does favour those who have taken up crafting a bit more.

    tl;dr: progression across all classes to avoid feeling gated.

    That was the impression I got as well. Since I didn't need exp and didn't need an alternate/cheaper means of acquiring the other items that were available previously, I didn't bother with Ixali. None of the beast tribes have ever been essential. They get you a special mount and the ability to buy certain materials cheaply, but it's not like you had to go to the Sylphs to get your Daystar equipment or anything like that. No one saw this Ehcatl Sealant thing coming.
