On another note, even if they did allow you ride mounts, it's not indicative if someone with the leaf riding a legacy chocobo 'bought' their chocobo, because the legacy chocobo is account-bound. Meaning any characters created on that account will have the legacy chocobo by default.

Obviously I wouldn't well know how the legacy chocobo works, I'm not a legacy player.

The point was not in the technicality, the point was in new people that haven't even paid for their first month of the game having the same rewards as someone that paid hundreds of dollars and supported this game when it blew chunks is just not right.

Like being in AA for a decade only to find out they sell the "10 year" tokens at the gift shop. (Never been in AA but looking for a comparison you might understand)

Hey it's no problem. Your point was still valid and I felt that poster was def acting somewhat aggressive, imo. It was nice to hear Yoshi come out and be honest about what the cash shop's purpose; however, I still disagree with them taking these NPCs out. I believe they should remove those event items from the cash shop, put them back in game as they were, and continue to practice the precedent the set in the past. ^^

I am a legacy player and I have no problem with putting vanity stuff obtained during v1.0 in the cash shop for those who were not around at the time. My ego is not so fragile that I would care if someone who started playing the game after I did obtained via the cash shop the 'vanity' items I had the chance to obtain in game when playing earlier. I have no problem putting every vanity item from events that will no longer be present in game within the cash shop, but any events which still periodically happen in game could maybe not have their items in the cash shop until the event no longer exists or will ever exist in future because in might keep them playing and paying a subscription if they have to log in when the event next comes around.

Event items that will never again happen in game however I think is very much fine to put in the cash shop. People seriously need to tone down their egos if they get offended by someone buying a vanity item from events which will never happen again. Not everyone who missed such events was due to not caring about the game, most might not have known about the game or was old enough to play it at that time or were in a position to afford to play back then. Holding a grudge and being bitter towards them for something that may not have been within their control with regard to not being a subscriber back then is childish.

I constantly hear individuals mention aesthetics; well, in my humble opinion, aesthetics are a significant part of MMOS (The avatar). I played numerous "free to play" games; countless attire options were buy-able only, on top of the sub. My character looked like a plain Jane without those options, hence many opt to buy these parts which makes their characters stand out significantly. If a cash shop contains some sick looking character options (Does not have to affect play), hair, attire, etc, I bet ppl would shell out the money to buy it, while others will cry foul. Add this to the sub, on top of releasing newer options in the future and SE could be on a money trail.

Could be wrong, but I seriously doubt SE will just release a bunch of lighting strikes crap, or things that ppl may not buy; pretty sure this cash shop is in place for SE to make money. SE are not innocent by any means, they are a business first, not your friends. They will do what is best for business. This is the start of something imo......

No clue, I sure don't. Do not play XIV anymore, but I have seen this story before, and it just seems like a money seeker to me.

Crying over something that might happen somewhere down the line is a waste of time and quite pointless. What they have said will happen is both what matters and is worlds apart from what you think might happen. If go through life always thinking the worst, it will lead to a miserable life while you wait for the worst to maybe or maybe not happen. They said it will be vanity only, until they change their stance and say otherwise on this topic your just complaining about something they are not even doing if complaining about being P2W.

My take on it is that there should be no cash shop exclusives, everything should be available in the actual game that we paid for and are subscribed to. Even if they are rare or hard to get I don't care. I wanted to get the previous year's Halloween costume this time around but obviously they're going to be sold on the cash shop, there is no way jose I'm paying extra to have those items so I'll go without. Prior to the cash shop looming I was hopeful that those items were going to be brought back this year. Same with the Moogle attire, a lot of people (not all) shamelessly paid for the stream and didn't even watch it - only to get the costume. Again I opted out. Paid extra or you can't have them items is no way to do business with your already paying customers. I bought both the soundtracks with the minions as an added bonus to the physical CD's, covers and included music, not cash direct for the minions. See the difference?

Not really, made a successful/happy living in rl thinking ahead; I do not live in a utopia, it is imperative that I Acknowledge various possible scenarios.

But anyways, in my previous post, I mentioned the importance of aesthetics (Or vanity); which is what you were referring to "Vanity only." I stated, if ppl think this cash shop will contain "Meh" stuff, they have another thing coming. For instance, the "Vanity" could be exclusive hair options or weapon skins for all we know. Vanity.
