Back after a year, wondering what to do

Hi guys, decided to start playing again after my brother bought the game. Thing is, its been so long and theres so many new things that i dont know where to start at.
Im currently a lvl 50 DRG and have left my relic quest at Titan(HM). I cant continue from there cause it says my item level is too low.

So what i wanna know is where should i start to get some gear and what else should i be doin that i missed the pass year?

Hunts are the fastest means of getting gear.

Do hunts. Get full i90 or soon to be i110. Finish Relic. Do dungeons. Then sit around waiting for the next update.

it would probably help to post your ilvl so we could help, but there have been tons of lvl 50 dungeons added for you to rack up some decent gear and tomes. People are suggesting hunts but imo that can be really boring and tasking even if it is rewarding.

First off catch up on the story missions. Then get started on unlocking the primals. Do your relic and run Roulettes, and you'll get tomes to spend on gear. Buy whatever the hell you want with Soldiery, but prioritize your Poetics. I'd actually advise against spending them until you've done everything I listed.
If you keep at it, and do hunts once in a while too, your iLevel will EXPLODE and you'll be able to do all the content you want.

Soildery and Poetics are a form of currency for you which can be used to buy Gear. their normally split into 2 groups. 1 that is limited to how much you get per week and 1 that you can collect as many as you want per week with both have a Hold CAP at 2,000.

in 2.4 this will be the 2 Tomes you gona use.

Soildery: 2,000 *No weekly cap. Can be used to buy ILV100 Gear
Peotics: 2,000 *450 weekly cap. Can be used to Buy ILV120 Gear

You can get tomes from Dungeons, the latter the dungeon the more tomes you get. You can also do hunts, PVP frontlines too for Tomes and other things as well.

Depending on what your play style is...
1. Hunts are the quickest way. These give you allied seals which can (2.3) be turned in for ilvl90 myth gear or (2.4) higher. You need to get into a party to succeed at the hunts though. Also go to thehunt.tk for a timer showing what hunts are up. I don't know what the most commonly used session for Shiva is.
2. Brayflox HM, Halitali HM, and Haukke HM drop ilvl70 darklight gear.
3. Hullbreaker Isle, Tam Tara HM, and Stone Vigil HM drop ilvl80 gear.
4. Labyrinth of the Ancients (Crystal Tower / CT) drops ilvl80 gear.
5. Syrcus Tower (ST) drops ilvl100 gear and (2.4) has no loot restriction.
6. The current (2.4) tomestones are soldiery and poetics. Philosophy has been removed completely. Mythology is no longer available. Soldiery will let you buy ilvl100 gear that can be upgraded to 110. Poetics lets you buy ilvl120 gear that can be upgraded to 130.
7. Turns 1-5 of the Binding Coil of Bahamut (coil, t1-5) drop ilvl90 gear. If you clear t5 you get access to t6-9 which drops ilvl110. T10-13 are just now being added.
8. We are guessing (2.4) that Sastasha HM, Qarn HM, and Snowcloak will drop ilvl90 myth gear.
9. Depending on how much gil you have, there is crafted gear available up to ilvl90 or (2.4) ilvl110.

Run dungeons/hunts to get your ilvl up to 61+ (rec 70) and finish Titan HM for your relic. Then take 450 soldiery to get 3 thavnairian mists and upgrade it to Zenith. You could then start on the rest of the relic progression if you want.
You will also want to catch up on the new story quests which unlock Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva.
Once you are up to like ilvl80+ you can try the extreme versions of the primals. These also drop some ilvl90+ accessories and weapons.
Also find and do the Hildebrand quests so you can /mandervilledance
