4XMSAA
General Drawing 8-9

Hi there, I have a GTX 570 and when I play FFXIV with everything "standard" the room turns into an oven and my computer sounds like it's going to have a heart attack.
Do I have something toggled on I'm not supposed to? I really don't understand half of this stuff:
Display Mode: Windowed
Window Size: 1920x1080
Multisampling: No AA
General Drawing Quality: 8 (Standard)
Background Drawing Quality: 3 (Standard)
Shadow Detail: Low
AO: Off
DoF: On
Disable cutscene effects: Off
Enable hardware mouse cursor: On
Texture Quality: Standard
Texture Filtering: Standard
I'm not aware of a better place to go with this so if there is let me know and I'll head there, thanks...
lol yeah thanks but i just upgraded my psu to this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/245669
so it will be able to handle the gtx 500 range![]()
i think i know, i dont think i know... i think i know, i dont think i think i know
My issue with the game is the 'lag' I experience purely due to the round-trip so many actions need to make to the Japanese based servers. I have a good spec PC (wont bother with specs, I play with high/highest settings and get a fairly consistent 30-60fps) but REGARDLESS of FPS, the UI still feels painfully sluggish. If a mod wants some tracert readings I'll be happy to supply them - I'm based in the UK with a high speed ADSL2 line with a solid minimum of ~8mbps and an ISP with good T1 links, latency really shouldn't be an issue. I don't have problems with any other games but XIV feels horrible to play (FFXI is fine by contrast). At times its OK, but often it makes me log out. 60FPS and laggy UI makes me cry inside /sigh.
I know all the server-side checks were designed to prevent RMT - is that even working? Seems that botting etc is rife...
Might as well turn AA and Texture Quality/Filtering up. The problem is that ffxiv completely "does love to your GPU". It gets hawt and needs to be cooled. Open the door and a window lol
I wanted to imply that ffxiv does stuff with your GPU that it's not really designed for. Lots of players have problems due to the high usage.

You can go a lot far with 570
4x 8x AA all to high and general drawing 8 and background to 5
Your CPU? I see a lot of difference from my stock 3.4 2600k to the 4.5-4.7 ghz OC that i have right now
