    It sucks that this isn't talked about in patches or by devs anywhere cause as new player who just made GLA I'm obviously going to think classic skills like provoke/taunt would give me a nice build to enmity. Not phalanx or other attack skills which I just think of as situational DPS.

    Broken or not they just need to be a little more transparent on what they tell us about how the system works. We shouldn't have to have played FFXI to figure stuff out.

    I haven't seen anyone else mention the new enmity icon either. Not only do tanks have to be better at holding hate now, your party members need to be monitoring their own hate and acting accordingly. This is a game that should require teamwork, not just one guy spamming hate moves while everyone else goes crazy with attacks/cures.

    Our ls would take down Uraeus with 7 people before the 15 man patch reduction and 5 after that. We went after these mobs to test what the enmity was like before we went into the new dungeons.

    to answer some of the question others have brought up

    1) both cons and thm were using out of sight and at no time was ga ever used
    2) both tanks use cure and cure2 and both were plds in ffxi so they know how to play that job
    3) tanks used accomplice on mages --- with little to no effect
    4) even with the tank using provoke, taunt, war drum, cure 2, and various other abilites ... 2 cure1 and a cure 2 was more then enough to have the con take hate
    5) before you start talking theoretical about how it should work go fight the mob yourselves

    The fact of the matter is enmity is broken on the world nms.

    I can't get it to work >>> the devs broke it.

    the game would be still "too easy" if pressing 2 buttons for provoke and taunt let you keep aggro for the fight. Remember those threads complaining about the game being too easy?
    the enmity on cure was BROKEN BEFORE PATCH. It didn't generate ANY enmity at all.

    Theres a vid on youtube showing the dungeon ogre boss. The cons could cure2/cure3 the tank without pulling aggro.

    It seems that the thread is divided by 2 groups:

    Group A) Hate is broken and nothing works like it did pre-patch

    Group B) Works fine once you rethink your strategies

    One of the above groups is made up of collective derpers. The game is to guess which one it is

    I do however hate the WoW threat mechanics and abilities, give me a good old fashioned Provoke with the animation from FFXI and im happy

    They were probably spamming Cure like they could pre-patch.

    EDIT: And not using Elemental Shroud.

    A lot of people seem to be missing the point in the thread...

    The hate system isn't broken for every mob in the game, as I've been through the Maws and it was working fine. It was also working fine when I was duo grinding. However what some people are suggesting is that some of the world NMs are broken and that the tanks, no matter how skilfully they play, can't keep the hate.

    Honestly all I see on this forum is everyone not reading things correctly or going completely off on one.

    The patch notes did actually say that damage = enmity.
    And Phalanx also says that it increases enmity...
