I can use your argument against you for things that you suggested.

All of those services are automated. They require no work after they're up. Why should I pay for something extra that involves no work?

And Fantasia is a game item. It should be craftable by three star alchemists.

You know as well as I do that allowing you to change your character from a Sexy Roe-man beast to a dainty preppy lalafell, shouldn't be something you can do every day...or for free....or that doesn't require a little more effort from the server than whether or not 100 or 1000000 players have the same bunny minion. Furthermore, they DO currently have the barbershop in game that for 2K gil, you can make makeup and hair-changes to your current character.

So you're suggesting that now, you basically PAY real life money to use the barbershop every time you decide 'I'd like a new hairstyle/tattoo/etc. Why is that okay with you? This is already something you can do in game, as part of your monthly subscription.

And the same could be said of server transfers, name changes, and additional storage space. In all cases, it requires either data porting, additional server memory and/or changing your character 'tag' which while likely not much more difficult than changing your appearance, has ethical ties to it. (Allowing 'free' or unlimited name changes could mean someone purposefully is a jerk to people, and then uses a name change to hide'...and repeats this process often).

So yeah, SE charging additional (albeit reasonable) fees for 'extra' character service is fine...but a haircut? a toy? Really, that stuff should just be part of the game.

Oh and btw: the reason a fantasia is a 'tangible' in-game item is because it originally was a veteran (and legacy acct) reward. So they made it a tangible in-game item so people could KNOW when they received them, and decide when/if to use them at their leisure. Basically, by making it a tangible item, they made it less likely someone would accidentally use it/ignore it/not know they had it. Also, they can't be crafted as they are Exclusive items.

I'm sorry that you can't see why allowing people to change servers should actually cost something but a bunny minion should not.

EDIT: also, only the forum mods can make 'rules' on posts...you decided to make a topic, people can decide to show disagreement with you. It's totally within the actual forum rules for people to do so. As long as you aren't being attacked or called names, people can disagree with you all day and be considered 'playing by the rules' But I've said my piece, it is beyond dumb to suggest to SE ways they can nickel and dime you. But if you want to spend 10-20 extra dollars each patch for items, you should be rightfully able to expect as part of the subscription fees you already pay, that is your right. I don't have to agree with it...but you should think about what this means for future items you will want IN-GAME, as part of your sub, that you'll likely one day have to buy.

Minions cost money to make. You have to pay someone to design it, model it, texture it, animate it, make sounds for it, and implement it. How is it that different? It's not like when you use a fantasia you have to wait for some employee at SE headquarters to do anything. It all happens automatically. The aesthetician is just the character creator watered down, it's the exact same process except you're totally ok with paying real money for fantasia because of your imagined importance of it.

Who says that I don't see it? I don't see why you believe everyone should be against it.

If you think about it, model changes, name changes, and server transfers are in the game. I believe it's called "Create New Character." It's free, so you don't have to pay!

People are claiming up and down that this will ruin the game. "You've ruined what would be a perfect drop from Odin!" Who says that whats to come for that isn't...gasp...BETTER!?

SE doesn't have to provide any of the items in the cash store, I agree. But if you think about it, what else don't they need to provide? Minions. Mounts. Glamour. Dyes. Endgame content. But they do. And every one of those take time to develop. Why shouldn't they have the right to ask for money for something special?

Thought of another one. I would totally love display cases (like the ones in Skyrim) to display primal weapons in my private room. Some of the weapons just look so cool but I can't glamour all of them at once, so it would be neat to have them displayed another way.

@Violyre thank you. also, for that twilight gif, I love you just a little bit. pony references in out of pony forums makes the hiatus a bit more manageable.

Personally, I wish I coulkd see a cash shop upgrade to our inn rooms. like a deluxe suite. it wouldn't necessarily have anything added or deleted content wise, just a different scenery for it, and maybe a removal of the "no noise" restriction.
