ATMA: the worst thing ever made on A Realm Reborn

At least with Atma you dont have to wait around for certain FATES to show up. I actually didnt mind the Atma quest. But for Animus, I hate having to wait 2-3 hours for certain FATES. I wish they would change that....

With the exception of a few FATEs, there's no reason to ever just wait around for them. Just do any other open world content, like crafting, beastmen quests, hunts, leves, or literally anything and just periodically check the zone from time to time. You'll occassionally miss one but this is, in general, a very fast and effective means of getting it done. The only FATE that you really have to camp is Tower of Power. Also, most players are very good about holding FATEs, especially in non-Atma zones.

And it's on my second favorite game of all time. Yes, I love A Realm Reborn that much, but this is beyond the limits of the surreal.

All of you who got lucky enough to get your Atmas quick, good for you. Grats. And I don't want to be sarcastic, REALLY, you got lucky and I'm glad your experience wasn't as mine.

But as for me, this is one of the worst gaming experiences ever...

Don't worry Dia, i have not had as much trouble as some, but i still agree that rng is bad design.

I wouldnt mind a long hard grind but I need something more than a random drop rate to even progress on your weapon.

I've been grinding fates since atma was released always with my zenith on and space in inventory and I only have 5 atmas pieces but my friend has 3 atma weapons
I get you shouldnt get this weapon in a matter of days and I dont want to either, but I would like to have something to work towards that isnt dependent on RNG, pretty much on verge of not bothering on atma any more, when youve done in excess of a few thousand fates and still not close to having all the pieces.

Personally, I feel that getting the Atma weapon isn't worth it, you can easily clear most content with Zenith and the unweathered weapons you can get with Rowena Tokens (Soldiery) are superior to Animus, so even if you work to get Animus, its still not as good as a weapon you get get for much less effort and reliance on the RNG.

I gave up on my relic weapon after getting 3 Atma, to be honest I got mine quite quickly, but I can grab my Sol weapon next week and there is a chance I can get a High Allagan weapon in the Second Coil, the effort needed to upgrade your relic is simply not worth it in my eyes.

Relying on the RNG is annoying, because there will be people who will get all their Atma in no time flat and there will be people who try for weeks and get absolutely nothing.

A High Allagan weapon can drop on Second Coil Turn 4 (AKA Binding Coil Turn 9) they are currently the highest level weapons available (on par with the Nexus weapon now I think)

I was a little surprised by the lack of atma nerf in 2.38. I really hope they do the smart thing and finally tweak the atma stage in 2.4 to include a non-RNG option for completing it.

No matter how much bad math people try to use to defend this indefensible system, it's just not fun or commensurately rewarding for the intense headache it can cause. For the RNG outliers, it's extremely painful.

I actually didn't mind the Animus books despite the FATE requirements since you had a sort of grocery list and knew what your result would be if you put in the time. Novus was a little bland, but not bad by any means. Nexus isn't exactly exciting, but at least you can technically do pretty much whatever while advancing your quest. Atma, though, is what makes me not want to do relics for my alt classes. At all. Ever.
