Exactly this. This is what any sane new player is going to do. Once the cap is moved to 2000, you'll be able to get a 110 every week (i'm assuming the 1/week limit on tomestones is staying, otherwise it'll be even worse).

    Relic + Zenith? 3-4 hours
Atma? Lets be nice and say 16 hours
Animus? <throws up hands and runs ST>

This is pretty much my entire point. If a new questline is starting in 3.0 - why does there need to be a purpose and incentive for new / casual players to complete Zodiac? Let all of the time that previous players spent be worth something (as a nice glamour piece). It's not like new / casual players can't put in the time as well if they really want the glamour piece. I agree - there is better use of ones time but SE shouldn't make getting a Zodiac easier (to create incentive) when countless alternatives exist for new / casual players. All this does is diminish the effort countless other players put in not too long ago.

If you play an average amount of time per week you might be just wrapping up the animus phase or beginning the novus phase. Over the past 6 months you've probably spent a good 150-200 hours on this. By quickly pushing new / casual players to Novus - you're ultimately hurting the average player.

Animus < 1 day each book (if you have the myth)

Just being hyperbolic. My wife and I blasted through each book in about a day (weekend) then did hunts for a couple days during the week (only 2-3 hours on most weekdays) to rebuild myth. So we were chugging through two books a week like that.

When compared to the time to get the soldiery weapons, especially with no soldiery cap, there's just no comparison. It's a weapon per week once the cap is lifted.

I would assume Soldier tomes in 2.4 will be same as Myth Tomes are now. So there be no limit on how many tomes you can earn in a week, past how much time you can commit to activities which earn them. Only limit will be on how many you'll be held at any one time.

Whoops, should have been clear. I was referring to the Unidentified Allagan Tomestone that drops from Coil and the last bosses of ST. Right now it's 1/week. They likely will lift the 1/week drop restriction on gear in ST, but they may leave the 1/week restriction on those.

Ahh now it all makes sense.

I don't think they'll lift that 1 week limit on ST until 2.5 when the last part of crystal tower is supposed to be released. By then the i110 UAT weps won't matter to much as far as end game past glamour.

They already said that 2.4 will remove the gear lockout for ST so that people can gear up faster in order to participate in new endgame content. i110 is going to be the new i90 come 2.4 so please look forward to it.

Well, even if you went with the spiritbonding route you could have sold the materia instead so i would still argue that you lost out on the gil

Personally i think the whole zodiac questline asks way to much of the player (especially for the reward) but I do know that many people enjoy it so to each his own.

As for the expansion, I would be very surprised if the questline continues into 3.0, dont count on it. We'll probably have something similar though.
