You have to learn how to hold a sword first before you can get a job with swords involved. You can also see class skills as weapon skills and level up a class like level up a weapon type.

Unless they make Job quests more frequent, at the moment I think SMN will get only Ramuh and Levi Egi.

In scenario 1 if you level your Paladin to 50 your Dark Knight job would also be level 50 despite having no real experience with the job.

This is exactly what happened in, for example, one well-known MMO which uses a three-spec system. I can go through 90 levels tanking and decide afterwards that I'll do the endgame content in healing spec. It's just a matter of loot and/or buying appropriate stuff.

You can't seriously think that they have told us everything coming in the expansion already? They will continue to drip-feed information all the way up until it finally drops. Which is approximately 6 months away

Unless they mentioned it in the opening before the SD stream or the closing ceremony there was no mention of it at all. really hoping this does not mean they plan to delay it farther.

actually it was HINTED toward with that and their reaction gives the idea that it is very likely. but they didn't actually confirm it.
in day 2 they were asked for more new job information but they flat out refused.
so will we get DRK, I would say it is likely yes. but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I'll wait till they give actual confirmation rather than hints.

This. We don't even know the exact number of jobs and primals that we are going to see. Or the number of new zones. Saturday might reveal completely new game systems.
