You must have missed the NPC. I never did the reindeer quest and I made sure my characters got it from the vendor. Again, this isn't the calamity vendor, it was the seasonal vendor.

Literally, they're selling you something that once was free. We can change this if we stand together. I don't understand why people want to throw away $$$ on something that was given as free

They aren't taking the NPC away in the game. You will still be able to buy them in-game if you did the quests. They're selling you something players otherwise wouldn't be able to get.

As I said in the last page, I don't support the cash shop, but if there HAD to be one, selling old seasonal events is the only thing I would want them to sell.

It lets newer players buy items they otherwise would not be able to get, perhaps for glamour purposes or something.
Older players don't have to buy the items, they can simple do the seasonal events when they are up.
If you miss an event due to being on holiday or something you'll be able to purchase the items at a later date.
Players still have the achievements, quest completed in the journal, legacy and veteran rewards to show how long they have played the game.
And Square Enix get all that moneyzzzzz.

IF the Seasonal Rewards NPC is removed, then yes, this is a horrible, and would actually be what makes them cross the line for me and make me unsub. But I'm sure they are just targeting players who missed out on the old seasonal stuff with this.

I absolutely agree with you that, if there were gameplay bonuses in the cash shop, I would be done. Plain and simple.

I was typing a long response, but it was pretty much a repeat of something I said here, you see it as a cash shop with anything that messes with gear stats or progression as bad while treating vanity as something irrelevant, but for many it doesn't work that way, I don't see this any different than selling stats boosts.

we can hope they wake up, sadly I have my doubts they will listen in this case.

I was hoping for the swimsuits from moonfire flaire next year among other things on my fresly made characters but if this is any indication of their plans there is simply no way I'm going to pay for those

SE should just handle seasonal event gear like they did during 1.x
You miss the event, you miss the gear. No vendor sell next year and no cash shop sell next month

Also, it can be that the only reason for selling old 1.x event gear was to give the non-1.x players the chance to get them. Now with the Yukatas in the last event, the last 1.x event gear was obtainable in ARR.

that is a big possibility.
however even if they decide to go forward with this they need to adjust the pricing $5 for a single pumpkin head is just too much. if it was the full set that would be different.
I also agree that items for an event should have suspended sales during that event and be obtainable within the game

im all for new events. i do not want to see the same events every year. also square enix please increase the friend list and let me see when was the last time my friends have logged on/in thanks this would be so helpful.

I agree 100%. These event items should be exclusives. I'm of the opinion that seasonal items are meant to be incentive to play, subscribe, and adventure during the seasons.

Forgive me if you're of a different opinion, but I believe there is absolutely nothing wrong with exclusive, limited-time-only content. I despise being able to just buy into it. Take part in the game, participate in the events, or suit yourself. MMOs with cash shops of late have turned online gaming into a "no child left behind" environment.

I dunno, part of me likes the idea of only giving out seasonal event gear when you were there for it, but at the same time, I feel that it was wrong for SE to make the 2013 Halloween stuff cash-shop-only items when they previously let you get the older stuff with gil in-game.

Also, I remember back in 1.0, there was a period where my PC died on me and I couldn't play for several months, and as a result, I missed a bunch of the events. Being able to buy that stuff with gil once the events rolled around again was nice, even though I still won't have the achievements for them for those particular times.

If true this cash shop is even worse then I thought!

Those items should be for people who were around and did the events at the time not for people who have lots of $$ to waste to get them.
