Thank goodness. We don't need a bunch of gaudy looking tacky gold houses. Show some class people. Don't be like the silly people that spent too much for their cheezy faux gold iPhoneys.

To get a golden Chocobo, his parent chocobos and grandparents chocobo need to have specific colors. And there need to be at last 1 wild chocobo in the line that was catched during a specific weather.
The race stats he get would be random, of course.

Would it somehow possibly maybe end up on the cash shop? Maybe. But for $20? You don't seriously believe that. No way in hell.Yes I'm being cynical but at the same time its still a very real possibility. Anything that isn't main story/progression is up for the slot of vanity in a cash shop. Cash shops always start small in any game, but they grow, this one will too. How much of course no one can say yet. Anywho, was meant to be a dark humor joke based on our current forum wars, not meant to derail the thread.
I tried to make a golden house, wouldn't let me. That said, and I think I already know the answer is no, but did anyone try the true blacks or the true whites?

Gold house, available in the... cash shop!
Nah, again it was meant to be a joke. I was trying for obvious over extortion. It really depends what they price their goods at and how the player base reacts. The 'game that cannot be mentioned' has mounts at what, $25? So while technically the same thing, who knows.
Giving SE the benefit of the doubt, in all likelihood it'll be somewhere how Felis mentioned, albeit changed for XIV standards. We'll have choco forests in the expansion, so 'catching' a wild one doesn't sound too far fetched, though the color part might just be based off our food-shoving methods.
I haven't tried it on the house itself but pure white/jet black work on my chess pieces where metallics don't. So I presume you can use white/black on the roof etc.
