Pray tell. What is fun leveling in a MMO then? Gaining SP for everytime you teabag someone or something?Sorry, I don't really find mindlessly killing 200 mobs a blast anymore. Good for you though! I guarantee you that the majority of players they are hoping to target with the re-launch won't be wanting to spend hours looking for group and mindlessly grinding mobs. That was popular in 1999.
It needs to change.
The grind isn't always meant to be fun, it just needs to be rewarding.
Leveling shouldn't be 90 per cent of what you do in an MMO. And in an MMO like XIV where most of what there is to do is level, they ought to try to dress it up a bit, instead of nerfing the content that tried to dress it up, and implementing a "kill 500 puks to level" system.
Why even bring up the teabag thing? Grow up.
Depends what kind of grind. Mindlessy killing the same mobs over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. Fun? Not a chance. Good luck trying to sell that game to the audience that SE NEEDS in order for this game not to get shut down.
There are a quite a few very popular MMOs that have a rewarding, lore-filled, exciting, content-rich leveling process.

Thats the same thing people said about FFXI... 10 Years Later'd it's still going very strong.

By "fun" you mean "easy" with the release of Abyssea...and that was still...what..8 years after the game's release? Your point is invalid. Also, at least acknowledge my rebuttal to your statement about FFXIV being a longer grind than the GOOD FFXI..
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
I disagree with your assertion that grindy boring XI was "good XI."
Guess what, it is not 2002 anymore. People play games to have fun.
How is his point invalid? FFXI was losing players left and right after WoW came out. Also, FFXI became casual-friendly a few years before Abyssea.

FFXI had about 200k subscriptions in 2003
WoW released 2004
FFXI had 200k-300k subscriptions in 2006
FFXI had 500k subscriptions in 2008
Abyssea came out in 2010
FFXI had 250k subscriptions in mid 2010
Sure does look like they lost players left and right after WoW.

his point is invalid because he is a troll that knows absolutely nothing about what he speaks of. The same goes for you, honestly.
