Cash shop confirmed

I'm fine with the cash shop if, and I mean only if, cash shop items are funded by the cash-shop money. As in, if the money that goes in to making a cash shop minion did NOT come from people buying a cash shop minion, don't make it.

If it's truly optional, don't make my subscription fund it.

All Saints Wake last year, All Saints Wake this year, sounds the same to me. Just because the story has continued doesn't mean forcing others to pay for long old and already designed content in game is right; which again, was free to us aside for a few gil.

Don't like it? Don't use it. People will enjoy their new mounts and vanity items, SE will make a lot of money out of it and you won't quit the game because of that.

Its a forced change. Use to be free, now its real money. Not a hard concept really. All previous events always gave old content out for gil, and now its changed, forcibly, into cash shop. You cant spin it any other way. It's bad enough they want to have people pay for future content, but old is just ridiculous.


Edit- "Optional" would be, they left old event items with NPCs for gil during said events, and in the Cash Shop year long.

I just had to comment on this when the rest of the page didn't seem to catch the fallacy of your logic.

1) WoW numbers were decreasing for the past year and only went back up a ways in anticipation of the new expansion. People returning for an expansion is to be expected. While on the topic of WoW, go over the numbers of how many mounts and pets were released on the store vs. obtainable in the game over the past year.
2) Rift was saved by opening a store WHEN THEY WENT FREE TO PLAY. You omitted that bit but it's even in the link title.
3) Tera is also free to play. I admit to not knowing much about the game other than its name.

yeah...but u paid for it

how is it fair for some thats been playing since lunch ie 15$x12 month which is 180$ and some1 thats just bought the game get a month ago get the same thing...i look at as more a reward, i was there, got the item for free..ppl come after, got to pay for it

Reading through these comments is very funny. Some people are saying, "Oh this type of cash shop is fine, because it's only cosmetic stuff and vanity". It was not so long ago people were upset over fantasia potions being offered in the cash shop, and what did people say? "Oh SE is just offering services, this kind of cash shop is fine". When will you people wake up and see what is going on?

It's now jumped to "vanity" items. Which makes up a whole lot in FFXIV. Like some have said, that could be anything from dyes to mounts to minions and beyond. Not sure why some people would want to pay more for content we already pay for. I'll not support these actions, as much as i love this game, i can't sit by and send the message that these kind of actions are acceptable. So i guess voting with the wallet is the only way to get through.
