What you're defending is them adding these to a cash shop, instead of them being added to the game and not having to pay extra for them.

What you're defending is also having other people who don't want to have to do the same as you, to have to do it.

This becomes a valid argument only if we begin to suffer a dearth of newly available cosmetics in-game at the same time that the cash shop fills up. At that point it might be valid to suggest that they are hurting the core game experience in order to beef up the optional cash shop.

Simply having a few cash-shop exclusive items in addition to what we get in-game isn't cause for alarm.

Edit: Has anyone also considered that money earned from the cash shop will probably have a direct correlation with how many payroll hours they can assign to making new cash shop items?

Just because some of you dont care if its just vanity doesnt make it right. For some players minions, mounts, and vanity are more important to them than end game content. Its really no different than if they added final coil but if you wanted it you had to pay an extra $15 to gain access to it. Its no different. Just because you view vanity as insignificant doesnt mean its insignificant to everyone else. There would be a huge outcry from raiders if they had to pay extra real world money for each end game raid.

I'm pretty disappointed by this. Fantasias, name changes, and server transfers sure, but minions and mounts for a subscription game?

Every minion/mount they make now will have the discussion "can we put this in the shop?"

Very disappointing. Yes I know it makes more money, but the shop... ugh. I'm not immune to want; however, there is something about consistently selling digital items for 40-100% of the buy in is disturbing (game costs 20-60), meanwhile being charged monthly for them to develop content they may or may not include.

I never said it was insignificant, I do my best to collect mounts, minions and achievements in every game I play. Vanity is very important to me, I just don't see 5.00 minions as something for people to get so worked up over. better than the 15.00 I pay for my Pets on WoW. And yes, I buy them as soon as they come out every time.

SE are making plenty of money through our subscriptions already and to be honest, I think SE should shove their cash shop.

Yes, Square Enix have been making so much money in the last few years.

Final Fantasy XIV is the game that allowed them to not start another 5 years financial report in the red. What's wrong from them wanting to recover financially ? You and everyone who liked your post have seemingly no idea how to run a business.

I have no problem with a 'cash shop' like this. Just optional, cosmetic gear for those who want to fork out for it. Looks like the prices will be pretty reasonable too.

On first impressions, it is certainly better then SWTOR's Cartel Market. At least here it looks like you will get exactly what you pay for, rather then spending money on gambling packs hoping for an item you want...

I respectfully disagree, it is completely different.

All they are selling is skins of items we already have... I have heaps of mounts. i don't need another, I have heaps of minions. I would prefer to be rewarded for subscribing and doing events too.

I'd rather pay $5 for delivery moogle then having to pay $50+ for the plushy so I can get the minion code.

Next thing you know you can buy super pretty exclusive outfits for only 6.99. Rest in peace crafters..


No need to farm EX primals or odin for special looking mounts. Just buy it.
No need to level a weaver to make pretty outfits. Just buy it. T_T

@__@ I'm really disappointed that they made Odin's mount a cash shop item... Not everyone can afford to spend more money monthly. Right now, everyone has a chance of obtaining items, but with the cash shop, only well-off people will have access. It feels like a really low blow from SE and a slap to the face.
