Hello fellow fen festians!

Me and my girlfriend are making it over to Tobacco Dock for the fan fest on the 25th and were wondering how everyone is making to the location itself? we're going via bus route on the 100 to Shadwell and then getting off at stand J for Tobacco dock!

ive heard theres a faster route via tube which is bout 30 mins max however this is the tube and it is London.

So whats everyone elses travel plans?

Shadwell looks like a good place to stop. My boyfriend and I (and another couple) are staying in a hotel near Aldgate East metro station, which isn't too far away. From Aldgate East, it should be a 20 minute walk according to Google Maps (which is probably less in reality. We're not a bunch of grannies.).

Yeah haha, see im travelling down from Sunderland to London to already have accomodation ready (Girlfriends Parents house, lol)

But because we'll be in South London, getting to Tobacco is a bit of a pain since it involves going to the 415, then the 100, but our only other choices really are the tube which is going to be a huge pain on said weekend, and getting the bus to the T.O.L and then doing the 40m walk from there lol

Me and 2 of my mates are driving down the M11 to get there. No idea where we are going to park yet though... Need to arrange something... Haha

Parking is attrocious in London + Congestion charges on most roads, so if youve got no other option but to drive, then please look it up thoroughly or you'll be out of pocket just by driving alone.

Congestion charge doesn't apply on the weekends but otherwise I agree. Driving in London is masochistic.

I'll be taking the DLR to and from Shadwell - anyone else want to form a party to walk back through to the station through a dark residential district late at night? >.<

I live in London, I work in Wapping. Wapping is the back end of nowhere. The DLR and Overground (not tube) that are close will not be busy at the weekend... Unless you are coming from Central London the public transport is far far worse in the day. Trust me ... no one goes to Wapping. I am sure the fan fest will pretty much triple the population for the day... The roads however will be, the 100 bus can take forever to get anywhere. It travels along a pretty hideous route. I'm taking the same route I take to work Jubilee line to Canada Water and the Overground to Wapping. Takes about 20 minutes from my door at a push. The DLR would be a good option as well. Shadwell is the next best bet to Wapping.

Trust me, the people of Wapping will be more afraid of you than you are of them... though crossing the Highway into Shadwell ... your taking your life into your own hands :P

Park further out and get public transport in. From the M11 you can take the signs to the Blackwall Tunnel and either park at Redbridge (on the central line) or keep going further in maybe park in Greenwich and get the Jubilee and then Overground in. Personally I would park way out in Epping and get the tube in from there. There will be no where to park in Wapping. Its all warehouse flats with private underground parking.

On a saturday morning im presuming youre going down super early due to the event being at 10am.

Best bets is either 100 to Shadwell from Victoria Coach Station or take the DLR route which will bring you pretty much to outside the dock since thats its routes
