At first I thought these recipes were vanity, but then... aren't we supposed to get new crafted battle gear with 2.4? (i110 maybe?)

If so, yes, expect this to be extremely hard and expensive to craft.

isn't that essentially vanity for all of us long-time players anyway? if the tome-values stay the same anyone who caps consistently each week will have outgeared those by week 6.

Many people still now wear crafted and melded i90 as their regular gear, and for BiS crafted i110 can replace several HA/solidery pieces, until currency/raid gear becomes more available.

Either way they won't make it easy to craft just because in the long term they become vanity, in the long term all gear becomes vanity thanks to vertical progression.

you can only climb so high. not every mountain has a peak you can walk on...most for that matter.
