    The Crown is the same one that Emperor Solus Zos Galvus wore, I think, not sure why it has a dragon though, lol.

    Garlemald seems to be carrying on the legacy of the Allagan empire, and there are people in the empire known to have Allagan lineage, such as Nael van Darnus. We know the Allagans had some sort of fascination with dragons because they invented technology to control them, they enslaved Bahamut, and they used Midgardsormr as a guard for their sealed Primals.
