I'm on about items for a whole class, thats kind of messed up. You say it's an hour or two a week which nowadays is true, but there is also the amount of time spent learning the turns, dedicating set evenings to going there with your team. A lot more work goes into clearing Coil than ST. ST you can just go when ever you want it doesn't take any organisation. I don't care about Atma or ST or any of the things I can re-run over and over, I have no problem with it as long as i get another shot at it but Coil has a lock out, once you've missed your drop for that week the opportunity is gone. RNG in most instances of the game is fine, but in this instance it can be a pain in the arse.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to fix it, finding optimal solutions to problems is a large part of a developers/designers job, it would be wrong to say that the current system is without fault.

I don't think they believe they need to change it. If they do, they certainly aren't telling us.

I can relate with this. When I beat T5, I decided to farm it indefinitely until I got the Allagan Cane because it looked cool. Set up a bunch of farm, and clear parties every day for weeks till I finally got it. Ended up taking like 3 weeks worth of farming and around more than 80 clears (I gave up counting at this point) to get the cane. I brought a lot of people together to beat T5, as well as get people who needed it to advance to 2nd coil. So it was gut wrenching watching everyone get their weapon one by one. I was determined though, so I kept going with the same intentions of getting the damned cane. Mind you that all the runs before the run that I got the cane, it did not drop once.

I can't say that I can prove it exactly, but I did save videos between my first clear and the clear that I got my cane on. I used the timestamps as estimates. I guess you could also ask around Cactuar about by T5 binge (I'm surprised some people actually remember that lol).

I know.... I'm just bitching. With the last coil only weeks off it's far to late for a change and it would also break consistency with the previous two coils. But I can at least hope they will switch it up for whatever our next big endgame raid is.

That is commitment, when gear is out levelled I would just aim for the next one up. You must really like that Cain. XD

Why yes, yes I do. I have it glamoured onto most of my WHM weapons because of how nice it looks. Second coil has been a lot nicer with me than the first, which is always a nice thing.

It is. Especially since we were told in 1.0 days that the 'raids' would have a token system reward. RNG is not token based.

Don't rely on 1.0 information, this isn't 1.0 anymore, it's practically a new game anyway. 1.0 was just FFXIV, this is FFXIV:ARR. Just deal with it. Yeah, a token system would be kind of nice, but I don't mind either way.

Also I never said it was 1.0 now, nor am I 'living in those days' that does not even make sense or pertain to my point. I said in the 1.0 days..meaning, Yoshida told us this on this very forum in 2012, to rest assured.."IN 2.0" again... in 2.0 and beyond we would have a token system for raiding. I am tired of having to explain what I mean over and over again, if people can't read properly that is not my problem.

So yeah, um..according to what Yoshida said..if we we're supposed to have a token system..and yet it is RNG, thus, broken. Unless RNG somehow gives us tokens and I am confused?

The adjective form being applicable here of course, "not functioning properly; out of working order". Now, when you have designed the game to pick and choose what is working as you intended to then determine what is or is not working properly, then yes, you can claim it as broken. So, yeah, it's quite easy to see from three sentences, you don't know the proper use of the word. Simple? Should be.

This doesn't make it "broken" and the fact you are still trying to use that word only reinforces that you do not know what the word means. If you were told one system was going to be implemented and it wasn't but rather another one was, that's what it is, just another system. It's not "broken", it's just different. So, yeah, um...
