Which is ironically one of the biggest reasons that anything she suggests will never see the light of day, as explained by Dday3six.
This is a concept that I wish more people would get. Developers simply do not have the time to test every "solutions"/ideas posted on these forums so when feedback is gathered, anything that seems broken to start with will more than likely get ignored. And then when that happens, you'll hear people blaming Square Enix and accusing them of not listening to their community. A lot of people need a basic course about Project Management 101.With any suggestion referred to as a "balance nightmare" if your retort is Devs will make it work, you've basically admitted you have no concept of balance. Some shred of balance is required for a suggestion to be plausible. The starting point needs to be grounded in reality.

Iamapathy was also probably an Akiza clone. (Bulleted points with a series of hyphens, similar cadence to their speech)
God I wish the small group who was keeping this thread going would just go away.
I can't believe this thread is on the top of the DPS forum every time. It's the same person!
Like a tireless, mindless horde!
For the love of all that is holy, let this abhorrent thread die!
Can't our most popular thread be one that organizes discussion about best practices?

Or you can let people talk about what they want to talk about. You dont have to read this thread. You dont have to contribute to the thread. You dont have to respond to others in this thread. There are rumors that the idea of 2 jobs coming from one class is going to be scrapped due to the constraints it puts on those jobs. If this happenes, what do you think is going to happened to summoner/scholar then?Iamapathy was also probably an Akiza clone. I hope to god nothing. I hope SE isnt stupid enough to balance around the vocal (and bad) minority.
Let's not sink to the "you don't have to" this, that, or the other business, cause let's face it no one really has to do anything. Furthermore, do you mind providing sources for this rumor? The only thing that I can find are vague references to allowing bonus points to be allocated differently between Summoner and Scholar and that perhaps SE are not going to have classes split into 2 jobs going forward. Nothing about reworking Arcanist as it exists currently.Or you can let people talk about what they want to talk about. You dont have to read this thread. You dont have to contribute to the thread. If you actually read what i said, you will notice that i never said that aracnist is going to be changed. What has been said is that the current class and job system will defiantly stay the same until 3.0, but it is putting restriction on development, so they are going to look into the future of the class/job system.Let's not sink to the "you don't have to" this, that, or the other business, cause let's face it no one really has to do anything. You know i actually came to this threat to talk about the potential of the summoner (and by extention, the scholar class). Not to say that it has to be changed, that it needs to be changed, that it should be changed. I came to discuss that i would LIKE it to change, and see what would happen if summoner and scholar were seperated from one another. Read my past posts. If this makes me part of the bad minority, then quite frankly i dont care about your opinion. Engage with the discussion please.

To speak to your point, I really don't think the developers would massively redesign the summoner class and split it off from the scholar. The arcanist/summoner/scholar setup is a good way to fit the traditional summoner into a game that is designed around the "holy triad" of tank/healer/damage. This is why I asked if you had played any other FF games. The summoner class in most games was a mixed bag. That was the reason to have a summoner in your party, since you could load up on ethers, switch everyone else to damage, and blast through battles. In FFXIV, the design of the game is such that all class must have a strongly defined role, and all classes must be equal in terms of what they offer to a group. Given that, splitting up the damage to the summoner and the healer to the scholar lets the designer maintain the versatility of the class while adhering to this game's design.
As much as I like how SMN is at the moment.
When the expansion comes and other dps classes have raw damage added to them however it may be, I would love SMN pets to be the focus of their damage increase
