[sarcasm]Only for the secret society of those who know how to use Google. Don't let people know that though, they might get wind of it. [/sarcasm]
Sorry, only pulling your chain. Most people are aware that S Ranks are spawned under special circumstance. I am part of 8 active hunting LS's. When a hunt is announced on one, most of us announce the location and provide a map flag to all of the other LS's. This gets the word out. My macro also does a shout as well as a party and FC announcement. If people get there, they get there, if they don't, it's not because of early pulls (most of the time). I can say that I hear people whine and cry about not making it (my friends and LS mates included) yet they must have been asleep because an announcement may have been made several minutes prior. But I just got here! Well, several other people have been here a while, so they gave an obligatory 3 to 5 minutes and pulled. That seems rather reasonable. Heck, I've seen on a Saturday morning (east coast US) where we wait 5 to 10 minutes and still barely have enough people to down an A mark then someone says, "Why'd you pull so early?" Um... That's not early, it's rather reasonable. When I have enough time to mine a Grade 3 Thavnarian Soil node in Horizon at 5 AM Eorzia, a Grade 3 Shroud Soil node in S Shroud at 6 AM, then switch to a fighting class then transport to the site then join a party and wait for my traits to charge and still wait... That's more than enough time for anyone. Just because you noticed or received the announcement at a certain time doesn't mean that there wasn't a waiting period. There are enough A and S ranks that you can max out your TOS and TOM as well as AS in short order, even if you're not working really hard. If you don't want to hunt avidly during the periods that the hunts are up and you choose to do other things, that's fine and perfectly respectable. But don't expect those who take those periods to wait all day for you to finish what you're doing so you can get there too.
I look at it like any other thing. When I hunt, I'm hunting, I do my thing and I finish. If I'm lucky enough to get there between mining nodes or dungeon queues, great. If I don't, oh well. I'll still repeat the locations over my macro, even if I have no intention of hunting. It's a courtesy to ensure that the most people I can reach get the word as quickly as I can give it. It's the best I can do to help, but I don't expect people to wait until I'm done with this one thing. They have stuff to do too.
