Do you think they will increase Atma drop rate in patch 2.4 prior to any expansion?

new/returning player here to answer your question:
its simple: to give them a goal. I am stuck at the atma part of my weapon and after 20 hours of fates i have 1 atma to show, its kinda getting depressing and all I am doing when I log on is atma farming and maybe 1-2 duty roulettes. Thats it. i know the other parts are a grind, but you work on them slowly, and its not only fates, but variety and stuff you do with people. Doing only fates is melting my mind atm and I am really really bored to the point where I am looseing motivation to log in at all. worst part is i am constantly solo on fate grinding, might as well just play a solo-RPG.

You don't need the relic though... just get an unidentified allagan tomestone weapon and upgrade it. If you want the relic badly enough, keep working toward it. You could even work toward it on the side while acquiring other weapons.

You do realize that as a new/returning player i dont have access to syrus tower right? Cant get part one of CT done because noone is interested in doing it. And 2.coil isnt even an option to consider. Your logic failed there.

So i have hit a brick wall. Cant progress on my relic, cant get alternate weapons cant join 2. Coil due to lack of gear, welcome to the world of returning/new players

Get a Leviathan, Allagan, or Ramuh weapon then. All of those are doable without an ilvl 100 weapon.

You really aren't trying.
Prior Alex farm and ST, CT was dead. If you waited long enough, you could still get it done.

Leviathan wep is basically a handout.
Allagan armour from T1/2/4 is a handout with echo.
Second coil can be completed in i90 gear.


On topic: 20-30% drop rate is far too high. 1 in 4/5 chance to get an atma, you could finish it in an hour.

My first atma set... near 1000 fates spread over 2 months... some of that time spent friday afternoons, whole saturdays, whole sundays doing NOTHING else but farming atma with 0 drops. At the end I was thinking of giving up on atma. Mostly didn't care anymore at that point(just did a fate here and there if it was on the way or helping a friend for their animus). Picked me up once I got down to the last 3(first 3 start of april, second 3 start of may, third 3 mid may) - then I grinded my teeth and the remaining atmas and it still took me like 3 or 4 weeks(well into everyone else doing animus).

Second set of atmas(and I never thought I'll be doing it again). I got the first atma while doing the daily fate hunt... so decided I'll go for it that way - with maybe 30 min per day doing it. It took me LESS than 200 fates to get a full set. Gotta LOVE RNG!!!

So yes I'm in full support and expectation that they buff the drop rate of atmas. The first set nearly zapped my will to bother with relic anymore - second set just reaffirmed my wish to get this buffed so that nobody needs to go through something like that.

The way I saw atma done would have beet 12 specific fate bosses that pop somewhere randomly on the map - you beat those, you get your atma. It would even make sense from a lore point with them being thematically equal to the zodiac.

Easy to gear up in af2, Get to 50 get into a hunt ls, Hunt a few gear up full in a few hours and bam do some st/ct all good get your relic and zodiac quest line going and enjoy...

Now I did do my atma on my main before I deleted him and yes it took 2 weeks to get at 9 hours per day. Its not fun but if your maxed on your GC you can make some dough through all those darned fates. I know the grind is bs RNG but that is the way Yoshi did it...

I just hope he doesn't repeat this rng thing too much more or it will be another Aion.

ah those EX primal battles you speak fondly off. guess what I look at the PF. i see partys for EX primals (albeit they arent tha often). Item requirement: ilvl 105 or ilvl 100. I ask people to join, if its ok to join as a whm or sch ilvl 93. Answer: nope, need ilvl 105.
hey i found an ex primal battle with ilvl 95: asking if I could join. I get asked if I have kill experience. answer: no, but I have gathered infos and watched the vids so i have a good grasp whats going on. Answer: nope, we want kill exp.
2. Coil static looking for a healer: ilvl 105... asking, nope 93 doesnt cut it for them

see a trend there? This is what a new/returning player experiences that came back 2 weeks ago (and albeit didnt play much prior, maybe 2 months combined). Well guess what at some point that player wont give a ******* **** for this game anymore.
and 1. part of CT is dead nowadays.

Atma grind(ers) seem to have all but disappeared and there's not really any other reasons to do FATEs so I think it'll probably stay that way.
